How's the 176 sound? Heard good things!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 2:26 am Relab-176.

I have ToneX, just don't use it a ton since I got my Fractal, but imma have to experiment with this new update! IK stuff is pretty high quality overall, especially considering the price isn't terrible

This looks sick! Never heard of these guys, but the concept behind this is sweet. Definitely gonna have to try it out sometime soon

The 176 is CPU-intensive but great.clawelch wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 3:32 amHow's the 176 sound? Heard good things!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 2:26 am Relab-176.

The latest ToneX update, with new "V2" captures, just upped the level on already great-sounding amps.

Even though it was just released, getting a lot of milage from Minimal Audio Evoke. And not just on vocals.
ADPTR Utopia is an awesome reverb, great to work with.
The Vertigo VSS-2 is a lovely buss processor.
Not technically a plugin but I recently decided to speed my workflow by doing less sound design and using more samples. So in addition to my sample libs, I also subscribed to Splice. Pretty happy with it so far.
Also, every time I touch TB Audio Impress3, it gives me joy. Most versatile compressor on the market.

This hasn't been a big year for me in terms of new software FX.
Audiority Big Swarma is the only software effect I bought this year that I'm really feeling. It's surprisingly versatile.
I also bought Audio Damage Circa, which strikes me as both kind of overcomplicated, and a little bit primitive (in both good and bad ways). I wish there was some automatic seamless looping or de-clicking built in because I almost always have to follow it with Izotope RX Declick. That said, it can do some fun things. (I still feel like Bitwig is missing a good live sampling tool since the sampler is playback-only.)
CRQL Uzu is a spectral flanger, and can kind of sound neat but it's tricky to get it to modulate smoothly like a normal flanger. More of an experimental toy than any kind of go-to effect.
Uhbik 2.0 update just dropped, I haven't tried it yet but I imagine it will make the cut here if that counts as "new" when I've had the original for years
...
Some good new (or new to me) free plugins, though:
Finisher Retro was a free giveaway for a while (not sure if still free). It's flaky and annoyingly limited in terms of UI, but some of the effects sound great in the right contexts.
Pubbas Sheepadoodle is a pretty fun phaser with a nice amount of options -- I like how grungy it can sound.
I got UVI Relayer free as part of a Plugin Alliance thing (if I remember right) and it can be good. More fiddly than I usually like in a delay but it has its uses.

The new Re-Esser from Wavesfactory is honestly great.

Relab 176, Pulsar IPA 25, ADPTR Utopia, Newfangled Articulate, HY MBMFX, Oxywave, EXP filtertable and Ohmicide (S).
Digging Atelier and Re-esser so far.
By far, the plugin that I drew me in like no other has been Crusher-X.
Cost an arm and a leg but it's as deep as an ocean.
