BFD3, to fill out the FXpansion mentions, without the punitive drm and botched UI "update". ya, it was a bit clunky, but it worked as expected when you needed it to and sounded great.

I was just reading a review of the original Absynth (at least the first after NI took it in back in 2001) - so ahead of its time
