That's how it usually works - but I think this means you are just speculating based on how synths are usually updated - and you know it. :scared:

Riddle me this - when dune 3 and dune 2 came out - why was Dune 1 still being sold in the shop? Even after Dune 3 came out - Dune 1 was still being sold!

However, when Dune 3 came out, Dune 2 was removed from the shop, but not dune 1.
Incorrect. D1 was not being sold by SA after D3 was released in 2018.
Sigh... please don't tell me you came to this conclusion by the fact Dune 1 is not being sold currently on site... Are you just guessing or are you 100% sure - maybe you even spoke with Richard, the developer on this particular subject?

To my best recollection - it was around 2-3 years ago when Dune 1 was no longer possible to purchase from there site. I remember talking to Richard about it and he was kind enough to just give me a nfr version of it due to my concerns - that it'd be a shame to discontinue Dune 1 because Dune 3 does not 1 to 1 replace it.

From the horses mouth, Dec 2018

"Dune 1 is removed because there is really no point in having D1 and D3 in the shop (makes no sense). If someone still wants Dune 1 though, they can always email us, it's not a problem they can still have it for $49 if they wish :)"

As you joined the beta team around that time, you should know that. Stop posting misinformation.

It’s still around, but they are taking a long time between any updates.

This! With a Linux version. Directwave with a Linux version as well.

Rapture Pro got off to a rough start, but once they fixed the kinks it turned out to be pretty good.

Of course it was a pretty dumb move releasing a 32 bit version when 10% of the patches couldn't be loaded because of memory limits....

Unfortunately they messed up the interface. I know I'm not the only one who has said that they like Pro but keep the OG around for patch editing.

It was nice in its time, but I don't think it holds a candle to the analog emulations of today. But, I admit that I loved and owned it back when it was still being sold.

Why are you going off of what other people say? I don't need anyone to tell me even the developer of the plug-in himself the synth is different and cannot be replaced because I can find that out myself easily enough. And he knows that we've had discussions on that, that's the reason why it was in the shop for so long because it's a different synth architecture from scratch and was Rewritten. They see no value in continuing it, they discontinued it they want to focus on dune 3 not dune 1. But I wouldn't for a second read into those words that every single sent patch will sound the same in dune 1 is Dune 3, that's absurd.

Just open the thing up and start tweaking those filters I mentioned, they are nowhere to be found in Dune 3. This isn't a debate it's a fact.
