Maybe they add the new time shifter to S1 which they already use on the S1 Pro+ landing page

So WEEKS after screwing Presonus users by FORCING us to create Fender accounts that many of us neither needed or wanted and then LOCKING us out of our Presonus accounts, (causing some of us to lose access to Studio One and LOSING sessions in front of clients.....UNFORGIVABLE!!), they FINALLY just TODAY sent out an email:
Dear PreSonus and Studio One family,
Since PreSonus became part of Fender in 2021, we’ve been working to bring all PreSonus accounts into the Fender system — an important step toward creating a unified experience across both brands.
Here’s what to know:
Sign-in options: Fender accounts now support Apple, Google, and Facebook logins — options that weren’t available with PreSonus. If you created your Fender account using one of these, use the same method to sign in to both Fender and Studio One.
Password updates: Fender’s security standards are higher than before, so some passwords need to be updated. Step-by-step instructions are available in the Knowledge Base article.
Need help? If you’ve tried these steps and still can’t access your account, please email support@presonus.com and our team will be happy to assist.
We’re grateful for your continued patience and understanding — and for the many of you who’ve already shared that your accounts are back up and running. Your feedback helps us make sure everyone gets back to making music as soon as possible.
This is what happens when hedge fund bean counters take over music companies. I've been a loyal Fender AND Presonus customer for decades. I've never felt so betrayed, I'm done. Never shall I ever buy a new product from either company. I vote with my wallet.

Is there still an adult at Presonus? Self-sabotaging their own website, killing their own online shop, over-promising and under delivering, deactivating perpetual licenses at random, and NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER!
What genius in their ranks is thinking that this is the way to improve revenues? What happened to them when they were young? A sadist as parent maybe? "Greed is good, I'm smarter than you!" Is the goal a wrecked company?

I don't know if he is supposed to be directly involved with operations at Presonus but there clearly is a power vacuum for some time now and nobody is managing the ship.
Every day, the server for authentication is unplugged for the coffee maker and nobody can use the DAW while they're chatting or something. They clearly don't care if it bother their users. It's not rocket science FFS. One can test things before going live.
Nothing makes any sense in what is happening at Presonus for quite some time now. Time to end the nonsense.

And the Mackie Tracktion disaster.
History doesn’t repeat. But it sure does rhyme!

Weird vibes from Presonus...

Well, my year is now up apparently and the 3-4 major updates didn't materialise. I knew I took a punt last year given their weird and vague statements and changes. I completely understand that Presonus need to make money but this is disappointing and I feel taken advantage of. If they don't solve this somehow with some excellent and believable excuses or with an olive branch, I'm going to move to something else. This will be purely out of spite. I don't want to change my DAW. I like Studio One, it's still brilliant, but their handling of this... they are forcing my hand. Of course, I'm only one lowly whinging customer and I appreciate my moaning is pointless. I should just move on.

Given what I have read in this thread, I'm targeting not upgrading my Studio One license any time soon.

Studio One is without a doubt the best DAW on the market right now for my needs. I heavily edit multiple layers of midi clips sometimes over an hour long each. I slice up audio recordings into single notes to re-time, clean and re-tune or even transpose. I convert midi to audio and audio to midi. I use ARA a lot for melodyne for pitch correction and wavelab for general audio editing and spectral editing. I find it easy to use and for the most part very stable. I am very comfotable working in S1. But being over 50 I have seen many similar cases in the past. Cakewalk and Gibson, multiple 3D graphics software being sold out/aquired such as Softimage XSI, Motionbuilder, Modo...
It starts with a push to subscriptions, then the new features stop appearing and all that is left are occaissional maintenance updates that often dont address the main bugs whilst the subscription cost steadily increases. The forums get shut down/moved, the user base declines, and sometimes eventually it gets end of life'd or stripped bare with the technology used for another product.
TBH it's heart breaking seeing what Fender are doing to S1.
If they only put out one major upgrade a year with good solid new features whilst providing multiple quality of life and maintenance updates in the meantime I would be happy with that. But they need to be honest about their roadmap and stop treating their customers like this.

The 'major feature releases' have me targeting 3-4 crossgrade options this year.
I was on Cubase for 10+ years in the 2000s/2010s. If v15 is good I might head back.

Add to the list, Affinity and the Canva buyout... unfolding pretty much as you describe. All the signs are that the loyal community from years back, are being hung out to dry.adash123 wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 11:31 am I have seen many similar cases in the past. I don't see Apple being taken over by Fender or any of the other leeches anytime soon, so I'm feeling comfy with Logic now. No yearly update fee, certainly not perfect but you're not getting sold out either. Been with S1 since V1.6, enjoyed the old folks behind the scene (what are Rick or Ari doing these days, btw. .. tuning strings?). That Gilder guy has the compassion of a broken espresso machine and what's going on with that blond dude, geez? He seems to get excited over the most basic clickety-click thing .. here at Presonus, we added a new and exciting new check box you can select now.

When the Fender buyout happened I had written my concern about a similar pattern like Gibson-Opcode&Cakewalk on the "now gone" Presonus forum.
One of the developers got triggered and had written an edgy reply accusing me of being pessimistic without seeing anything yet and defending the buyout.
I wonder if he is still with Presonus or remember this exchange
