Le Masque: Delay is a crazy revolutionary timeline-driven delay effects plug-in!

Le Masque:Delay is a polymorphic timeline-driven delay effects plug-in that can behave like a regular digital delay, and inherits XILS-Lab’s renowned filtering and audio effects technology allowing users to speedily and intuitively perform hitherto unheard of delay-based effects!

It lets users accurately specify the part(s) of the dry signal, based on their time position and/or their frequency content, that will be processed by the delay itself (accessed from within the GRID view), its associated LFO, envelope, and filter components (via the LFO & ENVELOPE view); and various modulators (within the TIME &MOD view) — Masked zones within the grid area are processed by the delay while any audio data outside those masked zones remains clear and untouched, giving you unheard of clarity and control over your sound!

Nice :tu:

I hope Ramses gets similar treatment.

So this has basically a timeline running in a loop, similar to a XoX sequenzer, then it just incorporates sort of an automated Aux send to the delay within that loop based timeline (called "mask"). Doi i get that right ? (plus it has a filter etc....)

Is there also some sort of a preset system to switch from one mask setup to another on the fly ( jam-approach) ?
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

Finally picked this up. It is awesome.

Yeah that's basically it. You have a mask that act as sends to a stereo delay. You can have up to 8 of them. Each mask has an attack and release setting. You can set the time of the overall window from 1 bar to 4 and set the division in beats for snapping the start and end locators of each mask to the grid. There's also a swap button to invert the masks.

You have an LFO that can be phase reset to set seconds, milliseconds, bars or the length of a mask. You have an envelope that can be triggered either by the locators or an external sidechain as a trigger.

Additionally each mask has its own level control that can be used as a mod source.

There are different way of syncing it. You can sync it to the host, an internal fixed tempo, a tap tempo and also tempo derived from an audio sidechain.

I don't think you can really seamlessly switch between presets since there's a bit of a thunk when you do.

It's a very nice delay though with lots of possibilities.

that's cool, releasing a new version while it's heavily reduced in a sale (€14.99)

okey. So that´s kind of 8 different aux sends. (that slipped already off my brain)
Ok, i went for it.

Thanks one more time for the thorough explanation @kraster.

ideas are already sprinkling. add this to some Piano, played thru Crusher X.
I do patch all such FX feeds as Send/Dry-mix combined one knob controlled morph setups.
So i can just send some -manually controlled- short moments of music to any FX,...like Crusher X....then send that into this DLY here.....even patched in multiples......to create long evolving rhytmic grooves just based on some short Aux-send bursts, and the sprinkling audio from CrusherX, etc.

I see now my potential with this one.
Buuut: time is the problem, not the ideas ;)

i found the explanations vs. how the Xils Guy is seeing its uses quite boring, haha

I forgot how it worked. Heh

I like it and bought it. I can't think of a delay I have that does this. Although seemingly niche, its actually quite effective, musical and useful. I was suffing delay burnout along with compressor, limiter, eq, reverb, analogue emulation burnout so this passed through my radar. the price and update made it worth a look.

I really don't get their sizing schemes - Chor-X is huge on my 5K screen even at 70%, this is tiny at 100% and it won't go any larger

Post

Sorry, it's an issue which has been fixed (a 2.0.1 beta available in the Resources page).
The first time the plug-in is launched, the size is 50%, but the menu is checked with 100%.
The workaround with this 2.0 version is to change the size to 80% for instance, then go back to 100% if you want the bigger size.

Perhaps the nameserver of your provider does not resolve the hostname. If that's the case I would recommend to use a different nameserver. Please try Google's NS with the IP 8.8.8.8 and as you usually can enter two NS, also add Cloudflare's NS with the IP 1.1.1.1.

IMO the new Le Masque is really great!
Just got Le Masque, Ramses and LX122...
Ramses UI needs an update too... and LX122 at least should have a VST3 nowadays.
So, I second the request for an updated RAMSES and please also update LX122.

Post

Hi, Thanks for your interest in our effects.
RAMSES 2.0 is already in public beta (check our resources webpage) and we will work on LX122 early 2026.
