UAD Luna solely for mixing & mastering?

With ARA Luna is now a daw I can consider.
I’m leaving PC and Sonar and have a Mac Mini on the way.
A new primary daw is something on my mind. I do have Waveform 13.5 and Harrison Mixbus 10 but Luna suddenly looks like a good option.

The more I look into it, the more I wonder who the heck Luna is actually meant to be for and how people are using it and how on earth they a) make their way through all these severe limiations and b) still manage to come up with something that doesn't sound decidely 90's bedroom-studio. I mean, obviously I am talking about folks who use audio-recording in the first place - if all you use is softsynths, you might not even notice.

But for anyone else: are you really putting all your phasers and flangers and chorusses and spatial-tools and rotary-plugins and reverbs (yadda yadda yadda) on sends just so you don't have to manually load your tape-machines and console-emus? Is that the price you are willing to pay for that?

The way it is right now: what's the actual point of Luna? Seriously: anyone?

Probably good for live recording a band, or as a mobile rig for live shows to play through.

Ive only had a play but kinda like the idea to use it for mixing, but the extra bounce all audio phase is probably too much for it ever to happen. Maybe for a stem mixing/mastering combo.

But even then, as. Bitwig user, I think I would miss the fluid grouping and routing Bitwig has too much. (Just as trying to use Cubase these days is such a pain).

that looks neat, like a rewire approach, but maybe simpler?

Not much information on their website and, sadly, no windows version yet.

Didn’t expect an expiration date for the free upgrade for Luna Pro owners. That seems strange, am I readying that right?

The update to 2 is in my UA Connect but not the other plugins yet- not sure if I need to do something else to claim or register them?

Wow! Now I feel like I got an unexpectedly good deal. I paid $75 (after coupon) for my Luna Pro license, and Luna Pro 2.0 includes so much that when my Spark subscription expires I'll have to make a checklist to see what the overlap is, and which of the remaining Spark plugins I would really want and/or use. The same would apply when considering whether or not to get the Signature bundle when it's on sale. I might just buy UAD plugins a-la-carte from now on.
