I've been checking out this new feature and I'm initially super impressed. Just by generating new compositions while tweaking the 3 parameters, I'm getting usable results right out of the box.

I'm curious about the arrangements though. When I ask it to create it's own tracks, It seems to cycle through reasonably coherent arrangements each time (i.e. piano duet, flute duet, string section, jazz combo, etc). How do I tune it to a particular arrangement? Do I create my own composition first and have it use the existing tracks? Will it understand the context of each pre-existing track as it does in internally generated arrangements?

Yes, it is a good idea to create your composition first, as it can continue the tracks.
Providing a 'prompt' is optional. The 'prompt' for such a neural network are MIDI events that are fed into the network before creating notes. These MIDI events can be program changes on some MIDI channels: this will make the network use the instruments and create instrument-specific phrases. Unfortunately it does not always output the same instruments that you require. Even better, if the 'prompt' contains MIDI notes, it can nicely continue existing tracks.

At the moment it makes absolute notes, and the master track chords are not set up. This will be vastly improved in the next update, v6.1.

Please note: it may happen (due to a small bug) that you cannot see the 'neural phrase engine' button in the Phrase Editor. You need to set "AI LLM functions and suggestions" to "disable" instead of "disable and hide". This will be fixed soon in the next maintenance update.

Thanks,
Attila

Hi!

I didn't want to start a new thread since I have a question that fall under 'arrangement'... I couldn't seem to find a way to have the AI creation engine create info on a new track after the 1sr generation.

So, I Iet the AI engine create a new composition, but would love to then add a new track and have it just create data (based on same seed?) just for that track while keeping everything else. It seems like i have to start a whole new composition all the time (or just extend the ideas already created)?

I could easily be missing something. :)

By the way... really nice feature.
