I decided it’s a very good emulation of a synth I don’t particularly love, so will pass on it, unless it goes on sale to $50 some day. Maybe.

Proxima HZ someday ?seafire wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 3:33 pmGood idea actually. They could tab it in the Noise section, like they have with the Amp/Mod Envchagzuki wrote: Thu Oct 23, 2025 3:26 pm
Wouldn't at this price point it make more sense to release a more expanded version of the original synth, with optional 3rd oscillator/sub osc etc.?![]()

Hi, do you get any load error? Is it PC or Mac?Echoes in the Attic wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 5:49 am Demo doesn't load in Bitwig for me. Loads in Ableton Live.

Richard, I would LOVE to see the Proxima UI-style implemented in the other Synapse synths for the non-Reason plugin versions at least. Example: redesign Obsession's GUI so the mod matrix is front-right, there's a keyboard towards the bottom that can flip to be FX and mod-sequencers, etc.

You can't really compare a two osc, single filter, limited modulation analog emulation with a 3 oscillator, 2 filter, modulation powerhouse like Dune 3. Dune's UI may be a tad clumsy (why is there an "LCD" screen on my LCD screen?dasen wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 9:52 am Proxima has best UI design since Dune 1. Please continue with this UI approach.

That's fair. I'm always on the hunt for a plugin that sounds a bit overdriven internally, that's also very good at poly mod stuff, so it's right up my alley. I'm also in the mood for that Synthwave style sound, as my daughter and I are midway through season 4 of Stranger Things, in prep for the new season.vitocorleone123 wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 6:39 am I decided it’s a very good emulation of a synth I don’t particularly love, so will pass on it, unless it goes on sale to $50 some day. I'd demo Obsession again if this happened (also need to see if some of the other issues I had were addressed since release, purchase, and subsequent sale of the synth by me).Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 12:25 pm Richard, I would LOVE to see the Proxima UI-style implemented in the other Synapse synths for the non-Reason plugin versions at least. Yeah, I feel like Obsession has a good base sound, but the flipping and back and forth is such a workflow/inspiration killer that I hardly use it. A Proxima-style UI for Obsession would be great. Maybe even with a less drab color scheme than Obsession's current (which just makes me feel sadness with the soft, dull, dark blue lol: ).vitocorleone123 wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 6:47 pmI'd demo Obsession again if this happened (also need to see if some of the other issues I had were addressed since release, purchase, and subsequent sale of the synth by me).Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 12:25 pm Richard, I would LOVE to see the Proxima UI-style implemented in the other Synapse synths for the non-Reason plugin versions at least. My other wishlist for Obsession would be the ability to save "Trimmer" presets with a selection of like 5 or 6 good starting points.

Hehe, I had exactly the same thought! Once Proxima had reached its final UI state, I noticed it became such a breeze to design patches compared to previous parameter layouts. If we get around to redesign Obsession from scratch, we'll almost certainly want to add this or that feature though, so it'll likely be a larger projectFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 12:25 pm Richard, I would LOVE to see the Proxima UI-style implemented in the other Synapse synths for the non-Reason plugin versions at least. Richard, please can you take look at Proxima on Mac with native desktop scaling. On a 4K monitor the smallest size is too large and the UI's not hi-dpi crisp — incorrect scaling might explain both.
