Can't get it to install - ran the script but the AU just says it is damaged and needs removing to the bin - which macOS then does. Tried opening security to OK it but it does not appear - even tried sudo xattr -cr /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/components/BARKHAUSEN.component but it still says it is damaged

Are you checking security after you reinstall and run to get the error again without moving to bin?aMUSEd wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 12:03 pm Can't get it to install - ran the script but the AU just says it is damaged and needs removing to the bin - which macOS then does. otherwise try
Code: Select all (#)
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/BARKHAUSEN.component
if that doesnt work, im so sorry (im the dev), however its 2:30am here so I will come back tomorrow with a fresh mind

Yeah I think the install into the user folder is messing up instantiation of the plugin. Delete it.
I do have a couple of questions/observations for syrophoam:
BUGS?
Big clicks when switching between Q factors and Random Frequency
Big click when starting transport
Comb at 1, with one note selected, even at 512 samples delay I'm getting crackles. Only 1024 gives me a clean output.
It feels like the Threshold display is upside-down? When I turn down HC (high cut) the display appears to remove low frequencies, and turning up LC removes lines which appear to represent high frequencies
The MIDI COMB seems to be off by 4 semitones. If I play an F into it, and then MIDI key an F to the COMB filter, I get a C#.
REQUEST
I'm guessing the Comb filter, when triggered by external MIDI, isn't velocity sensitive, and I wouldn't expect it to be! But it would be nice if there was some kind of volume balancing based on how many notes are depressed
QUESTIONS
Is there any purpose to the routing view near the top? Some of them appear to be clickable and only one Random Frequencies doesn something, which is switch between OFF and 6 of Random Frequencies.
***** I've just realised, by randomly clicking on them, that they seem to enable/disable functions
***** When the box has a dotted border, it ISN'T enabled
And the NA boxes? Will we see more features?
The COMB filter doesn't seem to detect/isolate notes in high or low octaves. Should it?
Yeah, this is a fun way to start Sunday
If you want help writing a guide or manual.. let me know

Thanks for coming here syrophoam!
Yeah sorry I'm probably just going to plop my ongoing observations in this thread unless stated otherwise..
It looks like, as well as the enabling/disabling components in the signal path, the top routing diagram also displays where the feedback is being routed from.
When FEEDBACK is set to behind the BIN SHIFT, I would expect the BIN SHIFT to accumulate in the feedback path, and contuously 'lift' or 'push down' the signal. But it doesn't? Perhaps the delay isn't routed as it appears?
I am getting serious clicks on the right side when repressing any button for RANDOM FRQ and Q FACTOR
Still having fun with it
I hope syrophoam can address some of these issues!

VST3 and CLAP would actually be the best.CrystalWizard wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 6:00 am Quite interested and will follow, but CLAP or VST3 for me.
