Can anyone with v3 tell us what happens with the Global Controls when you build a patch from absolute scratch? Do they pre-map to certain things from the get-go or do they dynamically change as you are building your patch?
No possibility to change what they are set to manually, right?

What's your ONE favourite about the new version?
As much as I love the effects and the ability to stack things like granular and harmonia, my number 1 thing is the new filters and gain staging. Now Omni sounds really really tight.

Goes over all of the available filters old and new. If they are modeled after something it will tell you what they are modeled after. For example "OB LPF 2/4 poles" is a Oberheim-style filter. The Legacy filters are all listed also and some of those have been around for a long time but still work and sound very well. The "UVI" filters for example are the original filters that were in the Atmosphere product from 2002 that eventually became Omnisphere. Those original UVI filters have now been enhanced in the "French" filter which I really like

The actual controls don't change, but they adapt to what you you are using. For example no matter which of the many filters you are using the cutoff control will still adjust the cutoff and if you swap out filters the global control won't change but will just control the new one, same with the filter envelope

Thank you. I see.. so every patch has these parameters set for Global Controls. Wether you start a patch of your own from scratch or pick one from the library; global controls are always set to operate these particular functions?IvyBirds wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 12:50 pmThe global controls look like thisMorty-C-137 wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 8:54 am Can anyone with v3 tell us what happens with the Global Controls when you build a patch from absolute scratch? If you do view all and sort by latest it lists two alphabetically organized lists, the first group is allegedly the new patches.

Yes they are the same for every patch, doesn't matter if they are from the factory or your own Homebrew patchesMorty-C-137 wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 1:39 pm Thank you. However pretty much every patch no matter the source is going to have a filter and need both Amp Envelopes and Filter Envelopes. That is the bulk of the controls
The controls along the bottom are for the most part like the channel strip on a mixer. In the middle is a knob based 3 part EQ for basic tone control to the left is "Ambience". Amount is basically the same as a send on a mixer and length is the length of the effect, to the right you can turn the effects on and off and there is a single control to set a limiter
On the top right is vibrato controls and the top left is a fantastic Unison control. I really like the unison control as no matter how the patch was made or what it is made from, with simple sliders you can add detuned voices to fatten it up
Beyond those however everything in Omnisphere is very easy to program to a controller either via MIDI Learn or Host Automation
Something like an Akai Midimix or a Novation Launch Control XL makes for a really nice remote control

Can anyone confirm whether the all the new effects are completely new?
I don't have the upgrade yet, but doing a quick comparison of the front panels makes me wonder if some of them are based on existing effects from Sonic Extensions and Keyscape:
I wonder what it could mean for the future of the Sonic Extensions line... Could we see new extensions with new premium effects, or will future extensions be pure sound libraries?

- K-Channel -> Super Channel (looks like a straight copy)
- K-Verb -> Super Verb
- Seismic Pump -> Pump-O-Matic (looks like a straight copy)
- Sky Verb -> Solar Shimmer

- Unclean Channel -> Noisemaker
- Under Echo -> Magnetic Echo

I had that too! try turning orb on and off. seemed to fix it for me. some kind of bug...quantum7 wrote: Sat Oct 25, 2025 8:42 pm I pulled up 7 older projects that I a reworking with Cubase, and all the Omnisphere patches were messed up unfortunately. Read about some people having payment issues here.
Holy shit, it's actually hard to fathom how ridiculously shit this issue is.
I was super excited about Omnisphere 3 from the second I saw the announcement email, as someone who has previously bought Omni 2/Keyscape/Trilian and uses them daily...
Last week, after seriously considering if I could truly afford the upgrade price of Omnisphere 3 (more than 300 dollars in my currency), I said f**k it and excitedly attempted to purchase it, given that Omnisphere 2 has been my favourite VST since originally buying it in 2019.
I got the "AVS mismatch" error on the Spectrasonics site that some others have had on here.
No indication that money may have been taken, it just seemed like a failed attempt to purchase with no risk of lost funds on the buyer's behalf. So I tried again and got the same error message.
I didn't think that much of it and for a totally different reason opened my banking app on my phone shortly after, only to see that $614 Australian dollars were now gone from my account... leaving me with 12 cents in my account, after paying my $300 rent, minutes before my two failed Spectrasonics purchase attempts.
Their support was like "The AVS mismatch can be triggered by the slightest difference in how it's written, you should use PayPal to checkout on our site because CC payment is clearly broken as f**k..." (paraphrasing of course) even though my billing address has never been an issue anywhere else, but whatever...
Still waiting for my money back after about 5 days. I replied to them showing the two "pending" transactions of $307.53 in my bank account and haven't heard anything back and needless to say have no Omnisphere 3.
Their quite slow reply after I realised the money had disappeared was rambling and longwinded, despite saying very little and showing several signs they hadn't properly read or understood my enquiry. I guess for a company whose products are so stellar I would expect at least passable customer service...
I don't even want to immediately buy it once the money's back now as the whole thing is just tainted... goddamnit haha.

I'm in the EXACT same situation! There's a pending transaction they have to accept or reject, but they REFUSE to do anything about it. Their support is a f*cking joke... I'm still waiting on my money as well and I don't think I will get it within the next 20 days. My bank told me it's an international transaction that will expire in up to 25 days. So all I can do is to have patience.atinysquirrel wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 6:07 pm Read about some people having payment issues here.

What infuriates me are the blatant lies they tell. They DON'T return the money automatically after 2 to 3 business days. They also completely ignore anything I write to them and then explain that I should use PayPal. How on earth is that a solution to the problem that I can't access my money?? Their problem now became my problem. What a bunch of amateurs...

Yeah I think I am seeing what Eric meant “Focus on musicians”. I think Noisebuk pointed that out in here as well.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:14 pmYes they are the same for every patch, doesn't matter if they are from the factory or your own Homebrew patchesMorty-C-137 wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 1:39 pm Thank you. I don’t think Omnisphere is ever going to be what I want it to be. So I can either accept it for what it is or move on. I think I’ll get v3 somewhere down the line as the sound is undeniably good and when I had v2 it was easy to patch a few sounds together and already enough for a whole piece to stand on it’s own.
That’s worth something absolutely. It’s just that I enjoy making my own sounds from scratch too, but not with omni as UX gets a bit too much in the way for my liking.
Anyways.. enough of my musings. It’s on the ‘get-list’ for me. Maybe in a year or so.

I also really enjoy sound design and making patches from scratch, it's what I will end up doing with Omnisphere (and pretty much everything else) probably 90-95% of the timeMorty-C-137 wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 7:37 pmYeah I think I am seeing what Eric meant “Focus on musicians”. If you want custom interfaces for not just Omnisphere but everything else I highly recommend you get a copy of Gig Performer. You can get the essentials version for $59
When you sit down to design something in whatever plugin you would host that inside of G.P.
Then you can design whatever graphical interface you want to control whatever you want using Host Automation. You literally drag and drop unlimited buttons, faders, knobs and switches onto the screen and set them up to control whatever you want. You can then easily program everything to a controller but you don't have to, you can just use your mouse . You can program a button that will pull up the actual GUI of your plugin if you want that can then be turned off, or do as I do and run dual monitors and have one your custom GUI on one screen and the actual GUI on the other
It's a game changer
