Seems there's no talk about it. Currently testing it, though I have no experience with real hardware saturation I really like the sound of it.
Derived from the 176’s variable-gain tube stage and transformer circuit, Color Drive uses the same real-time solver, now refined for harmonic color instead of compression.
So, we’re opening Color Drive for early access before the official release.

If you already own the Relab 176 from the pre-release or intro period, Color Drive is free for a limited time, as a thank-you for being an early supporter of this plugin from the start.

If you’re already a Relab customer, you can get it for only $29.

And if you’re new to Relab, it’s $49 during this early window (MSRP $79).

That's pretty incredible sounding. Relab are doing some pretty incredible things with analog modeling.

I have the 176. It took me all of ten minutes trialing it to buy it in early access.

Color Drive is free for anyone who bough the 176 in early access or the intro price period.

Happy days!

How do you buy it or get it for free in early access? I only see an option for a free trial which I've done. I got the 176 plugin under the intro price, but I have no other offers under my account. Was it a separate email or offer? I don't even see any option to purchase. Thanks.

it hasnt been officially released yet.

We'll get it when it's released.

Tx Relab nice gift for early adopters. Sounds amazing. The idea of adding mods over time to emulate different dist/sat types is very clever.

Quoted from the dev, over at GS :
Yup anyone who bought 176 in pre-release and current intro sale (which we left running as we knew this was coming) will get this for free.

Thank you. I was looking for a thread/post about it, but didn't see one (only the one with the YT video). For anyone else, the quote is from page 61 of the Relab 176 thread.

It's great they're giving this one away for free for those who got in early on the 176. I don't have any tube-based gear myself to compare it to, but I think it sounds fantastic overall, adding some nice vibe and presence. I'm really interested in seeing what future models they plan to add and will definitely support them.

Relab has been killing it lately with their plugins. MLA-4, MEA-2, and 176 were all must-haves for me and get constant use. This color drive will get a lot of use, too.

Anyone who likes the Relab Color Drive (I do) should also already have The Scream.

FYI, AP Mastering just made a video that 176 compressor collects data without really telling and opt-out hidden at the very end of the EULA. This also applies to Relab Color Drive. If you don't want your usage data to be sent to amazon servers, you need to go into the about box, scroll to the very end of the EULA and then check the checkbox to opt-out of the data collection.

I already have the scream, but concur..

Relab Color Drive is super nice, lotta cpu, much like the compressor...

it's ok, but Vertigo VSS-2 was recently $10 and a much more usable tube saturation in my comparison and opinion.
this one distorts too early to use as a saturator, very much more a distortion. I'm sure some mileage may vary, but i was expecting some warm sweetspots. It just kinda goes straight into fuzz.

I actually find it quite subtle to be honest. The input control controls the amount of transformer saturation and the drive knob controls the tube saturation. You can have both at zero and the saturation takes a while to kick in. You can also decouple the output transformer.

One thing that makes a big difference is to use the crossover control to exclude the bottom end from any of the distortion stages. With a lot of bottom end going through the circuit it can get blown out really quickly.

I wanted to be mad enough at the data collection that it was an automatic no, but I'd already downloaded it and... it sounds really freakin good.
