OK mini review time:

You - excellent stuff!! Loved this, so clean, so tight, so pro sounding. Really good sound.

auralscape - well produced, but not my fave genre. Clearly you put effort into this and it shows. Very tight.

Zeb Virtual - wow, this is cool, a little bit JMJ sounding and oh so cleanly put together. Liked it; good use of fx too.

sttjelle - Already said so, but I'll say it again - SUPERB! Best thing you've done so far. Very Jon Anderson/YES. Am I showing a bias here because this is my style?? You bet!

donkey - Disgustingly prodigiously talented people like you should be banned; or out making real records and lots of money! Usual class act Donks.

Mystahr - Some really cool sounds and textures going on here; it's a little on the repetitive side, but you *are* into repeating patterns Mark, so in that case you've created a nice piece. Nice subtle bass too. I liked it.

Beardedone - Unstructured jazz eh? Damn fine realistic sounding sax and the drums give off a real live club feel. The synth pads are perfect in their subtlety and the whole thing comes together really nicely. Clearly a jazz lover and a talented player. Good one Gordy!

Kovacs - ooh, cool guitar sound here. Liked this. Big fan of the Top Gun soundtrack of course, and you've clearly pulled off a fitting tribute. The playing could have been 10% tighter to sync with the drums, but hey - good effort on this.

sweetboy - Epic dance. Is that a genre? Dunno, but it sound like that. Well made, great textures to back up the arps; all in all impressive work.

Did I miss anyone? Hope not.

My entry is ... er ... still in my head. How long to go..? The 24th? :help: Better get a move on then.

Great quality so far this comp.

Thanks Koorby. :D :D I was aiming a little too high with this one. Really glad you got my drift. I have had rough day and you have rescued it bigtime.

Please call me Gordon though, I have this stupid thing about "Gordy". Only my Mom calls me by that name.

Cheers,
Gordon

Thx Koorby :)

As every month I am limping on two thoughts; is this the best I could for now; and then listening to the wav-file here I think I outdid myself

But I posted so I can concentrate on doing some reviews again this month :D

Cheers Gordon; correct naming conventions have been duly noted

Will someone kindly please tell me if I haven't?
Two things;
rules and submission wrote:(c) named in the format month-year-artistname-tracktitle (ie - 12-04-artistname---tracktitle.mp3) with AT LEAST the artist and title fields of the ID tag completed (untagged entries will be disqualified)
rules and sumission wrote:(e) entered into the contest by posting a DIRECT link in this RULES & SUBMISIONS thread (use the GOSSIP thread for everything else)
Or in short; if you can update the name-tag I'll gladly host it for you as to provide a direct link for others ;)

Thanks man. Sorry to be such a crab.

Thanks for the kind words Koorby. It's probably a bad habit, but I find myself considering what my critics might say when I work out my songs now. I don't let it steer my creative process, but it does influence the decisions I make to some extent because I want my work to be accessible and interesting enough that the listener enjoys discovering whats under the surface. I look forward to hearing your entry...

Hey, Mystahr. I feel really stupid.

I DID name my submission as directed, but SoundClick renames things before they post them. In fact all mp3 hosting sites seem to do this. Are these KVR contests some sort of "people who do not host their own mp3s need not apply" sort of thing?

In any case, thank you for your kind offer. How would I get my (properly named and tagged) mp3s to you?

The contests are open to everyone

If you are in need of a direct link you will find enough kind people around here who would gladly offer that for you :)

@herodotus, PM me, and I'll upload it to my space for ya later on

Thanks, guys.

Sorry if I sounded pissy. I had stayed up way too late finishing my mix and posting it, and I was afraid that I had missed some (imaginary) really annoying clause in the rules or something.

I will avail myself of your hospitality Mystahr. Thanks so much.

ooh thanks for the minireview, but not your fav genre huh? ;) well from previous contests.. I figure most here voting wouldnt like it and that I will be at the bottom of the pile. thats no matter how 'nice' the song is/was/couldbe just because of the style in which I wrote.. but no worries.. I planned ahead for that one - I'll be bottom of the barrel and still proud of my work 8)

thanks again for the words! Quantization is MY friend  :hihi:

I am hoping that this contest will give us an even broader diversity of music than it has already has. VitD your track is very cool and is an ear-opener for an old git like me. Here's to many more good tracks submitted in the remaining weeks.

Thanks Koorby!

I just realized the drum problem myself...something must have happened during rendering the BFD track and I was probably just too happy to be finished after a lot of work so I didn't doublecheck...

Oh well.

i'm downloading the tracks i missed till today. seems that blue days' and sepheritoh's tracks are not available anymore... something went wrong with them?
