Please stop the constant CLAP begging.

Why? Do you not also request for things which you want?

Should I or others likewise refer to your requests as "begging?"

The right way is to write to the dev. There is no reason to pollute the forum with this. Same applies to the MPE crew. It's tiring.

The dev is replying here, and it's a free world, so no harm done. Nobody died.

How do you know I haven't also done that and to several other developers who I am a customer of also? That doesn't preclude also doing so in a public forum where others can contribute.

That being said, I have conveyed what I wished to regarding CLAP in this particular thread (as I want it also supported for Proxima). So I will not add anything further regarding this matter here.

As for MPE, I have no need for that currently. But it never bothers me in the slightest when many others request for it. Since it is a very legitimate request, which would benefit other users.

MrJubbly wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 2:35 pm Right now, without any CLAP-specific features, my motives are very simple. I hope to eventually reach the point when I only use CLAP formats going forward, for all my existing and future purchased plugins, so that I no longer need to also install other multiple, redundant plugin formats on to my workstation.

This decision was mainly triggered by Steinberg's decision to discontinue VST a few years ago,
VST came out in 1996 it was part of Cubase and only worked in Cubase

VST2 came out in 1999. Steinberg opened up the platform to work outside of Cubase

A few years later in 2003 which was 22 years ago, Steinberg updated that and came out with VST3.

What would be awesome would be if the CLAP fans would start being honest about their claims and stating you are pissed because after 20 years Steinberg wanted developers to stop using the format that came out in 1999 and was obsolete in 2003

You of course can use what you want but it's a silly argument to talk about how evil Steinberg is because after 22 years they want people to use the "new" software that is now two decades old, software which is open sourced BTW

Have to say the constant virtue signalling about CLAP in forums such as this also gets really old

No one cares what plugin format you use, and no one cares that you are upset that Steinberg decided to no longer support 26 year old software that was replaced 22 years ago with a new version that went on to become the industry standard

I don't use Windows 98 or Mac OS 8.6 or Mandrake Linux or some kind of Debian 2.0 variant anymore why should I care about some audio plugin format from back then?

Further discussion of CLAP is OT for this thread, given Richard’s initial response.

I've recently bought 15 new t-shirts and half-a-dozen pairs of new shorts to go with the dozen pairs of new jocks I bought last month. Who knew losing weight would be so expensive? At least my socks still fit.

When there is a proper reason, not just my personal preference. Rich asked you for a reason and all you gave him was that you just wanted to use CLAP. That's a persona l preference, worth mentioning once, not banging on about for pages.

i was referring to your "big fat..." t-shirt specifically, not your new wardrobe on the whole, but now you bring it up, i have to admit, id never thought about that.
they don't warn you at weightwatchers about these things!
