I mostly wanted Tape J-37 but am not going to buy it as a single. We're closing in on a year since it was released. This seems like a new strategy of fewer plugins and/or longer periods between Collection releases.

They still haven't done SSL, something tells me they will.

Perhaps so. But they do seem to like their own effects blends on the creative side.
I was really fully expecting an FX Collection 6 by now. And they are tight lipped, refusing to answer questions if you ask them directly. So sit and wait it is..

I wouldn't bet on it. They haven't done a lot of the done-to-death stuff (where SSL ranks very high)... no idea how they decide what to emulate.djanthonyw wrote: Tue Oct 28, 2025 12:14 am They still haven't done SSL, something tells me they will.
(They .e.g. haven't done a rotary speaker either, but they have done an emulation of a relatively obscure analog rotary emulation. They haven't done a Fairchild but the STA Level, they haven't done an API pre but the Trident... then again they have done the 1176 but not the La-2a and the Dimension D and the Re-201 but neither the Echorec nor the Uni-Vibe.)
By all means: guess away, but it's really not much more than that...

I hope they avoid doing things what I would consider "generic versions of generic FX categories to check a box". Like "generic transient designer" (cough Bus Transient cough cough), "generic clipper", "generic bus processor", "generic de-esser".
I wouldn't mind some more slightly-off-the-beaten-path analog emulations (Bi-Phase, Memory Man, MS-20 filter, etc.)
I wouldn't mind more fun and creative FX like ColdFire, Motion, Fragments.

I wouldn’t consider Bus Peak to be a generic clipper. It emulates Lavry Gold and compare well with Acustica Ash.

Ooof the world definitely doesn't need another SSL emulation. There's not many ideas left to tap. IT's going to be multi-FX stuff from here on out. Mix DRUMS a good example.

Just because there have been many doesn’t mean it has been done correctly yet. None of the algorithmic options compare to Acustica Sand’s bus comp.oobesan wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 11:58 pm Ooof the world definitely doesn't need another SSL emulation.
