My maintenance has expired but I'm covered until '7.2' and can download the update. At least they werent greedy enough to lock us out of a point.point release. Fixes are always welcome.

Mine expired on Oct 10 as well.

But yes - anything that is still part of the v7.2.x series is good to go.

I think they did this "bugfixes only" minor update for that reason, because they're about to release a new "significant" version, which will be "new features only" and will require an active upgrade plan.

Time will tell.

Would be very odd to get a “big” release in say December.

Not a great time for marketing anything with the entire industry in Black Friday sales mode all through the month.

I think 7.3 will come in November, probably early. Definitely before the end of the year sale.

Last year there was a 30% off sale that started mid-December.

Have never seen a big feature release come any less than 5-6 weeks after a maintenance release in all of S1 history.

My money is on January 2026 at the earliest.

That would contradict their statement of 3-4 releases per year. They would then have only managed 2, with a gap of 6 months until the next release. Bug fixes (0.0.x) not included.

To be clear - no one ever "promised" anything.

They stated VERY clearly - they were "Targetting". That does not mean "promise" or "guarantee" or anything of the sort. They will release when they release.

If users want to take them to task if the next release comes out next year - I really do not think they will care.

You can accept their release cadence as it comes or not - but personally - I think it's time to let that tired video AND anything that was said in it - go.

Maybe, but they have fallen VERY short of all expectations about their V7 roadmap. Besides, a lot of people went version 7 counting on it and now it seems they're going straight to V8. Pretty LAME.

Actually - per that Sept 2024 video - it was mentioned that "version" numbers would be going away and we were (are?) supposed to get a new "time based" naming schema - like Studio One Pro 2026.1 or something similar...

If we actually see a "v8" then that would be just one more thing from that video that fell thru.

I was hoping at least one version with something substential since October last year. And with that I do not mean any fancy new feature. Maybe overhaul automation or Browser Improvements or Midi CC workflow in piano roll with presets etc or updated Sampler and Impact with Fade in/out!!, sessions with large track count, anything.
I mean any important section in there improved further. I mean what is the highlight of the past 12 months ''major'' 7.1 and 7.2 updates?

But good thing is at least they fixed lots of bugs with 7.2.3
So we should soon see either 7.5 or 8 or Fender Studio One 2026 with new purchase plans :)

Whatever. I'm about over it at this point. v6.6.4 does what I need it to and I don't see myself playing Servco Pacific's, (the bean counters that own both Fender & Presonus), little corporate money grubbing games anytime in the foreseeable future.
