Yea, it's very quiet over there. It would be good to see the place get populated with Reason users, which is likely a chicken and egg problem. Anyone looking to join a community of Reason users wants to join an active community, not a ghost town. But a ghost town won't become a community without users joining. A common thing with some other discussion sites / social media sites is artificial seeding of fake users to make a place look more populated than it actually is to get it rolling, which obviously isn't the case at ReasonHeads, so anyone joining could likely be reassured that any members are real members.Samiver wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 8:21 amReasonheads site is quiet from my experience and not many people post there (which is a shame as heiki is a good man). Reasonheads also has a radio station that used to play reason songs.
Any Reasontalk members here?

This is exactly the thing (Yes I'm running that forum). I want to think that our forum would be a great place for those who want to interact + building career as a Reason user. Kinda like being part of a scene.sellyoursoul wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 12:49 pmYea, it's very quiet over there. But yeah, I just updated the phpbb version to the latest - just in case because usually the latest version is also the most secure.

Thanks for letting us know. I'll be joining myself, hoping to see more Reason users do the same.deep'n'dark wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 4:25 pmThis is exactly the thing (Yes I'm running that forum). In case anyone interested in a community or Reason users misses it, Heigen5 at ReasonHeads (deep'n'dark over here) replied:
Sounds like it could be a good place to chat about Reason if enough people join to make it interesting.https://www.reasonheads.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=890
Hello, yes, the problem with this forum is that it's not having members using it and majority of members who sometimes check it out, want already an active forum.
But it won't be active if people don't start making topics and reply. As for the forum's features, there's lots of cool ones added like sharing patches etc. As example, you can attach combis, re patches, .reason saves and even Refills without a need to zip. You can even attach mp3s. So yeah, this is an advanced place from the Reason user perspective, but misses an active crowd.

I just visited the Reasonheads forum and appreciate your efforts, but I personally find the black and typographically rather crude design completely uninviting. It also takes a while for me to figure out which topic is which and what the main topics are. It—sorry for the harsh words—simply discourages me from exploring it.
However, I must say that I personally place a lot of value on design and typographic readability.

Can't please everyone, but thanks for your input. We have a light skin too which even the guests can change from the topright where it reads style.LaLivre wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 4:42 pm I just visited the Reasonheads forum and appreciate your efforts, but I personally find the black and typographically rather crude design completely uninviting. I definitely noticed high contrast, small fonts, and lots of subtopics. The first two are heavy on the eyes. Maybe those are issues that deep'n'dark is willing to consider addressing and getting more feedback on.LaLivre wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 4:42 pm I just visited the Reasonheads forum and appreciate your efforts, but I personally find the black and typographically rather crude design completely uninviting. Definitely true. Maybe it is worth considering though some changes in default theming to be more inviting to more new users?deep'n'dark wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 5:24 pmCan't please everyone, but thanks for your input. When Propellerhead site (the original one) closed down, there was a few options in which forum to join as an alternative. Reasonheads was one that I had ideas for and created graphic design work for whilst also being a mod, not that there was much to mod anyway with so few members anyway. Unfortunately, this didn't work out because he kept changing the design of the site (making it worse), and simply didn't have the time or commitment to handle a community or allow for it's growth. As a result, I quit and left him to it..
Now before even having to sign up or view the site properly, you have to spend half an hour to disable all the privacy boxes. Not once but twice lol.
The motivation for him setting up Reasonheads was to make money from it really...I don't think it was ever in the spirit of the Reason Community.

I took your admin status away because you started to change stuff without letting me know first. And making money with the board was nothing more than adding a donation button and it read that it's not a must to donate. I kept changing skins and then tweaked them til I got it finished. I'm proud of my site and all too... thanks.

It looks nice enough over there to me. Ctrl++ and the font is bigger, kept that way via a site cookie, same as any other site. Contrast of the dark theme could be lower so at to be easier on the eyes, in my opinion, but the light theme is fine.
Any way, I signed up. Thanks for a place for Reason discussion, deep'n'dark. I'm hoping to see some other Reason users drop in.

You had someone who had the commitment to improve and develop the site to bring in real people (not bots which run up fake viewing figures), and you were too stubborn to allow for that to happen, hence why you removed my mod status. You wanted to run the whole show and ended up with no community, rather than give the chance for the site to grow with new ideas. Did I change the actual look of the site myself, no, all I did was add new section to bring in more real people to discuss other DAW's. You didn't give the site a chance or anyone to get in the way of your personal project, and threw your toys out of the pram by removing my mod controls. This was all 10 years ago, and given that you've only had one real member sign up after all this time, having quickly lost all previous members after you started changing the site design negatively which I told you not to do, because it affects users trust (time they are willing to spend on a site). Sure it might not have been a bigger site like that of ReasonTalk but it would have been a sub alternate forum that might have actually been a nice place for users to hang out and learn something. I didn't come back to the site with my wealth of forum community experience and Reason and Studio One knowledge, and so in hence I left/quit the site entirely leaving you to it. I hold no grudges, things just didn't work out and my predictions of there ever being a real community at your website panned out as I expected when I left.deep'n'dark wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 2:46 amThe real story is that,THE INTRANCER wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 1:35 am When Propellerhead site (the original one) closed down, there was a few options in which forum to join as an alternative. I think the styles that we have on the forum now are betterly suited for a Reason forum purpose than what it was in the beginning. I'm not a guy who takes in account drama-drived polymics, I just wanted to keep developing the site further til it was good. And you can only stand behind your own personal opinion - not the elses in this. Right now you claim how your opinion is certain kind of an universal truth, - which it automatically can't be. And you claim how your visions are atomatically a big success. But hey, no pun intended. I own and pay for that site and tbh I have worked for that site to give some people a place to network in there. That site has been developed far already and if some people want to join the fun, - they're welcome to join. Some things may take some time before they start working out. I believe into my vision of a proper netsite like that. All the features alone are giving it a great value as a Reasonist.THE INTRANCER wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 3:03 pmYou had someone who had the commitment to improve and develop the site to bring in real people (not bots which run up fake viewing figures), and you were too stubborn to allow for that to happen, hence why you removed my mod status. I didn't know that any past drama would being drudged up.
I'm just seeing a Reason user hosting a seemingly empty forum that looks like it could be a good place for Reason discussion, and hopefully some other people drop in over there.

I did too. I'm only recently back to using Reason, not because v13 brought anything I was interested in. I had been away since v6, and since then the rack VST had been added and support for VST's had been added. Those were things that I always wanted to see in Reason. And updating was on sale.
Any way, I think there are probably still a lot of Reason users left out there, although maybe less than there used to be.
