Bread slicer is super cool and a bargain, since its so often on sale for next to nothing.
Their triple looper is also nice, the single version is useless imo. Also fans of their
delay, bass and drum plugins. :tu:

I like FlipCraft quite a lot better than Serato Sample, tho I am prob not super good at using Serato. FlipCraft is super fun, put in poly mode and you can have playheads going all over the place. I don't even have the HW to go with it. Not yet anyway.

Maybe he will do sales or something, I dunno.

Looks great. Kind of expensive, though not in relation to Serato. Kind of interested in this one.

Initial Audio Slice and Sonic Arts Vice 2 looks great

I like Vice, tho I don't really use their stuff much these days for some reason. I probably need to upgrade it, and I have always thought their updates too expensive. YMMV

I have all their plugins too, upgrading them would not be far enough from buying them again imo. *well over 50%...

I'm wondering if they are still active.

They are I believe, tho I think they have downsized to one guy mostly. Mostly still working on the vst host...

May be. But I couldn't create an account, on FB there is no communication since 2023

Likely that's more current than anything I can recall. Bummer, it's great stuff, it never
really went anywhere once they got on the host thing. Costly, underwhelming (imo) updates,
when they probably should have been making new stuff or more interesting product features,
rather than trying to shoehorn everything into the cloud and the live host, to flesh that out,
which took a lot of time, seemingly.

haven't worked on it for ages.. the linux binaries i have works good enough for me, so i haven't really cared.. but if there's any interest, i might be tempted to continue..

i just found some older (v0.1.6) binaries...

Vice is bonkers.

It's more or less unlimited in terms of the amount of individual processing you can do. Like you could have 100 slices and each one has its own envelope.

I think for loop choppers it's absolutely essential that you have the ability to trim the loop in the plugin itself. It's a massive PITA to have to trim a loop and then bring it into a plugin.

My current favourites are Chop-R, Vice 2, Groove agent, Rando 2, Renoise Redux and Speedrum.

I just checked the latest builds for Vice on the website and the last one was June 2025. So they seem to be still around.

FlipCraft v1.3.0 Release Notes

====================
NEW FEATURES
====================

128-PAD LAYER SYSTEM
----------------------
- FlipCraft now supports 128 total pads/slices organized across 4 layers, expanding from the previous 32-pad limit.
- Layer buttons provide instant switching between layers 1-4
- New button to toggle between showing Active/All layer slices in the waveform
- Pad labels now include the layer number for clarity:
- Format: [Layer][Deck][Pad Number]
- Examples: 1A1, 2B16, 3A8, 4B5
- Pad-Link Mode now applies to the active layer; in DUAL mode, it applies to the active layer and active deck.

SHORTCUT BUTTONS
----------------------
- Sequential Mapping Button for managing MIDI assignments across 128 pads (grid icon next to MIDI Note):
- Left-click: Applies sequential MIDI note mapping starting from the currently
selected pad's MIDI note value
- Right-click: Resets all 128 pads to default sequential mapping (starting at note 60)
- Mappings automatically wrap around at note 127
- Pad Color Sequence Button (grid icon next to Pad Color):
- Left-click: Applies a color sequence (colors 1-16) to all pads on the current layer
- Right-click: Resets all pads on the current layer to default color (0)
- Respects deck in DUAL mode

====================
IMPROVEMENTS
====================

MIDI NOTE NAME CONVENTION
----------------------
- MIDI note names now start at octave 0 instead of -1
- Example: Middle C (note 60) is now called C4 instead of C5

DUAL MODE AUTO PAD SELECTION
----------------------
- Switching decks in DUAL mode changes the current pad selection to its counterpart in the selected deck:
- Example: If pad A1 is selected while in DUAL mode, then switching to Deck B will automatically select pad B1.
- This eliminates a potentially confusing scenario where the currently selected pad does not belong to the active deck.
$99 BF pricing also...
