Hi all, does anyone know how to get the pitch bend to not sound terrible / quantised to semitones?
Edit: Hmm I've tried a few different things / diff midi controllers but its still sounding quantised. Experimented some more and I think this is a Bitwig thing rather than a plugin issue. drawing curves work as intended. :tu:

+1 to this: I tried MPE and it just jumps notes, rather than the smooth gliding it should

Do you use Bitwig?" I think its a Bitwig fault. It records the midi in quantised - editing and removing the points and it's smooth for me.

I'm using Fluid Chords 2 (hosting Kontrast) in FL, which doesn't have MPE of its own yet. Regardless of that: Fluid Chords 2 has done MPE in every other compatible synth I've tried just fine, including other Dawesome synths like Myth/Zyklop and Abyss 🤔

For clarity, are we allowed to drop literally any sample or wavetable into Kontrast for this month's challenge? Or is restricted to only factory waves/images?

I'm assuming that we can utilize the built-in export/drag/drop "last played note" feature that comes with the synth, but what about external files/photos?

All those are allowed under a special exception this month:

Special Additional Rules:
1. Sample Import to the synth is allowed for this round (must not infringe copyrights).
2. Commercial Fx allowed (within normal One-Synth-Challenge restraints).

Importing images is loads of fun too! :)

Nice. I missed that. Aren't the special rules of the month usually also listed in the announcement post, not just on the OSC page?

An oversight, hopefully resolved by my post above.

Well now is as good a time as any to finally try out kontrast. No offense to Dawsome, but I'll never see that plugin name and not think it's an NI release. Probably will continue well after I buy the thing.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

I understand you. Just as I understand Peter's desire to abstract from the classical approach to wavetables. But many people need to understand how do they relate to start creating sounds more consciously. This video gives you an idea, more precisely, the first 4 seconds of this video. Review them until you feel how the classic wavetable placed inside Kontrast. I'm going to do this for a beginning.

Thus, the stock vertical line from init scans the wavetable from left to right as in the classic wavetable synth. Kontrast emerge when you change the shape of the scanner using a variety of built-in shapers and modulators. And since this is where the unexplored territory of a new type (subtype?) of synthesis begins, I myself still do not understand exactly what sounds this or that shape will create, and I think that only independent experiments will help you understand and feel it, and find your own pleasant sound zones in a new dimension of possibilities. :phones:

And, I hope, Dawesome or someone won't mind if I make a small gif from this video as a tutorial. Otherwise, I will delete it.
