I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, since I've already owned and sold both a Moog Sub37 and Subsequent 37 because the sound annoyed me, but lately I'm GAS'ing for another Subsequent 37. I had a similar love/hate thing with the UDO Super 6 (bought it, hated it and sold it all over a 4-day period, then bought it again later) and now I love that synth, so maybe there's hope for the Subsequent 37? Secondhand prices are stable enough that I won't lose anything if I buy one and decide I still don't like it (I made a small profit on both the Sub37 and Subsequent 37 the first time around), so I'm leaning toward taking the plunge again since I just freed up some inputs and desktop space. hmmmmmm....

i have loads of knobs already! i dont have any up down arrows!!seafire wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 7:45 pm If the up/down arrows were knobs, it would be more appealing, but would prob be another 200 sovs, so...
but that filth

Thanks! It's really something special. I just received black panels for the Intellijel stuff in the lower case. It'll look really swift with all black panels in the black case. The Harvestman mk1 and mk2 modules have a unique sound and some really quirky behaviors. Very different from the mk3 stuff, which also sound great but are much more well behaved. The QMMG and Umbra are really well suited for this system.
This setup will probably be the focus, when I do another video on the topic of feedback.

I'm still a fan of Kermit mk2.justin3am wrote: Wed Nov 05, 2025 5:17 pm The Harvestman mk1 and mk2 modules have a unique sound and some really quirky behaviors. Very different from the mk3 stuff, which also sound great but are much more well behaved.
HD mk2 is deeply satisfying, one of my long-time favorite oscillators. I had it, thought I could replace it with an ER-301, missed it, got an HD mk3, decided I liked the mk2 better and got one... then moved on to Shapeshifter, then Algo. But I could happily circle back to HD mk2 and stay there.
(I might be horrified by this idea tomorrow, but today I can imagine running a smaller case with just HDmk2 and Odessa as my oscillators.)
I would still love to try a Piston Honda mk1 though.

Get in touch with Scott, he's doing a last call for PHmk1 orders. $400
http://www.industrialmusicelectronics.com/
This version has a bunch of expansion ROMs included.
I have #15 from the original run, with a ROM expander. It was my favorite oscillator for years. It developed some strange issues about 10 years ago and so I sent it off to a friend who wanted to try to fix it. At the time I thought I'd get another one and just let my friend keep my original.
Well, a 2nd hand one was more difficult to find that I thought and my friend went radio silent for a number of years.
Earlier this year I was able to get my original unit back and I was able to repair it myself. Just needed two replacement pots and a replacement jack. Scott told me I should have just sent it in, from the start, lol.
Now, I also have all the things I need to burn ROMs for the PH and my Frac Rack Miniwave. I'm figuring out how to get everything talking now and hope to sell some custom wavetables (in a few different formats) next year.

i would have been hesitant before today, to put polimaths in without at least one of the qxg, but todays video opened it up outside of the nuss umbrella, in to just being another module...Constructed Identity wrote: Fri Oct 31, 2025 2:25 am I've been working on a 'nice to have' rack on modulargrid:
Watching videos its hard not no start dreaming in modular.
The most immediate possibility would be to replace ENVY with one or two Dnipro Krait(s) to get three or six LFOs or a random wave from recording knob in the 12hp. Then I really liked Vamp, so many great sounds! RYK modular Time Slice still needs bug fixes, but it would be fun paired with a poly maths or I could just get the old Stardust for looping.
Technically, there's no reason I couldn't put my Kobol back into its case and then I would have 80hp FREE...![]()

Yea, I’ve heard I should get a Maths, but I don’t know a use case scenario since I’ve never had one, just transforming CV signals. One thing I probably won’t do is get more effects since I am going to get a Warp when they’re available…

Maths is one of my favorite modules. If I had to slim down to a very small system, Maths would definitely be in there. I frequently use one channel as an envelope generator or LFO and one channel to process stepped voltages but there are so many patching tricks which it will help with. It's also really useful when I need an extra clock divider, voltage scaling/mirroring and some simple logic.Constructed Identity wrote: Wed Nov 05, 2025 8:20 pm Yea, I’ve heard I should get a Maths, but I don’t know a use case scenario since I’ve never had one, just transforming CV signals. With that said, I wouldn't recommend getting one just because it's something everyone says you should get. The manual is a good resource for understanding how Maths works and the information therein can be applied to a number of similar modules which are based on the Serge DUSG, Buchla 281 and 256/257.
Things to understand:
How is the Sum output different from the Or/Max output?
When will the trig input trigger the envelope and when will it ignore a trigger?
How does that behavior relate to using the EOR and EOC outputs and how channels 1 and 4 cycle.
How do the inputs respond to audio signals of different types (how to patch an evelope follower vs a wave shaper).
I made this video which covers a very specific patch but I talk about some of the behaviors of the envelopes and some uses for channels 2/3. All of these techniques can be applied to modules like Befaco Rampage, Random*Source DUSG and others.

With B.Abacus, I see no point in Maths. As pointed out, Maths is a Serge DUSG with a few extra bits. So is Abacus. I dislike the panel, but then, I dislike the dark Maths panel as well.Constructed Identity wrote: Wed Nov 05, 2025 8:20 pm Yea, I’ve heard I should get a Maths, but I don’t know a use case scenario since I’ve never had one, just transforming CV signals.
