RC6 Manual: Note Editing Mode

i'm still working my way step by step through the RC6 manual.
now i'm at page 42, Note Editing Mode
• Select active phrase: click on a phrase note
if i click on a phrase note (in composition view) nothing special happens - compared to clicking just somewhere in the phrase, the phrase is selected, ok.
• Add new note: [select phrase to add to] double-click
does this mean opening the Phrase Editor via doubleclicking the phrase?
• Add 6 chord notes: [select phrase to add to] Ctrl+Alt/Option+drag
what should i see there?

You have to put the composition into note editing mode first. The top left, right above the timeline, you will see an icon that looks like a punch card, or midi notes. That is the mode selector. Note editing is F2, or click that icon and select it.

But, still i did not find out what this means:
• Add 6 chord notes: [select phrase to add to] Ctrl+Alt/Option+drag

OK, I'm in Note Edit Mode. Then I hold Ctrl AND Alt and drag what? Where?
