Hm. Attack compensation/midi modifiers in the expression maps and the expression maps changes in general are nice. Some of the workflow improvements as well. Don't care for the pattern editor. Had stem separation with Spectralayers already. New modulators are good. Nothing too exciting for me though. It'll be interesting to see what the non-marketed changes are that make things better. There is always a lot of that as well.

Well, the Preferences and the Pool are still an eye-sore. But hey, the color preferences are new. This is exciting.

Edit: actually the color settings are nicely done. Playing around with it, the old workarounds to set darker colors etc. are not needed any more. Well done.

So, is it possible to save patterns now?

Nope, it's vocal generation - it's controlled by MIDI + text input, not audio (like the new IKMM vocal plugin).

There are rumours that Cubase 15 will not be released until February 2026.
Holger Steinbrink, who makes German-language tutorials for Cubase, has hinted at this.
He hinted May 2026.

Yes, you can save presets which seem to include all the patterns and the lane configurations (controls, nr of steps, etc).

done and dusted, well, that escalated quickly
installed on both machines and working well so far.

Well that was an easy choice. First the new Korgs and now this. There will be no budget left for black friday. Installing...

I think so.
Steinberg has always released major versions of Cubase on the first or second Wednesday or Thursday of November since 2017, with the exception of the post-pandemic Cubase 12 release in March 2022.

That means we should get an announcement tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or at the latest next week.
this man wins. the feb 2026 prognotician loses. :)

No clip launcher, which is a shame, but oh well...

The pattern sequencer is a nice addition, though.

New features in the modulators are pretty good.

Now, whether this update is worth it remains to be seen...

We'll watch the numerous videos on YouTube and read the forum reviews to get a better idea of whether or not this purchase is worthwhile.

Are VST 2 plugins still supported by Cubase Pro 15?

Yes. The plugin manager got a facelift, but the "Enable VST2" button is still available.

I'm stuck on scanning VST3 plugins splash screen...anyone knows how to solve this?

Post

sometimes it takes a while, if it hangs, you can force quit cubase and open again. I'd let it run for 5-10 mins to be sure, the first scan i nearly terminated but it came good. My macbook though i had to force quit.
