I asked this question in the Black Friday thread over in the Instruments forum, but the Samplers forum is probably the more appropriate place to ask...

EastWest Ancient Bundle (Ancient Kingdom/Ra/Silk/Gypsy) is being offered for $139. Last year for Black Friday, UVI offered a 50% discount on World Suite 3 which brought the price down to $149 so I'm assuming that will be offered again this year.

For those who have experience with both, which would you recommend if you had to only pick one? I'm interested in your perspective on their relative breadth, quality, usability, etc.

I'm sure that there are higher quality and higher priced sample packs out there for each individual instrument in these collections, but a large collection of "good enough" instruments at the ~$150 price range is more appealing to me personally. World instruments won't be the "main ingredient" in my music, but I would like to use them for "flavor".

The UVI sale started today and I went ahead and pulled the trigger on World Suite.

Of course, if anyone wants to comment on this subject, feel free. I didn't find any direct comparisons between UVI and EastWest on Google so others in the future may still find your opinion useful in their decisions.

I myself purchased the SONIC bundle. I feel that this was the best decision I ever made.

I'd also like to know, as I have UVI Sonic Bundle, but the EastWest deal at the moment seems pretty good.
