Thank you for posting this Attila, It’s always great to see other users highlighting the key benefits of RC. This is one feature I was curious about but wasn’t sure how it works. Now, seeing this has opened up massive potential.
One feature I can’t find, which I believe is an absolute must when it comes to playing live, is the ability to play chromatically and informatically, just like you can with any sampler. In samplers, you select a certain part and then you can play that section across the keys.
I’m not sure if this is currently possible—I didn’t see it in the video and I’ve tried looking for it. If it’s not available yet, is this something you could add? It would be an absolute game changer, especially when you start adding variations to what you’re playing.
As you can see in the picture of the sampler, you select and lock a part, then you can play that part chromatically. Having the same feature in RC—being able to select a certain part, lock it, and then play it chromatically—would be a huge improvement.

Hello lovemusic15,
There's no limitation on which chords you can play in Live mode.
If you need chromatic chords, you can assign them freely to physical keys. In fact, automatic chord layout on the master track was added to the Master Track Inspector, offering several options. The phrases you place under the chords are entirely up to you. For example, you can even use a phrase containing only 'absolute' notes that have no relation to the chord.
If you mean to select a single phrase and play it chromatically without further setup, that does not work yet. You need to copy and transpose the phrase to set up each key at the moment.
Thanks,
Attila

Thanks for your reply! Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking. When you say live play, I was hoping it would work the same way as playing live in a sampler. Especially since this is MIDI, you could manipulate it even more on the fly without extra steps.
It’s not necessarily about playing chords for me, but melodies in general. So basically, I want to be able to select any part of a pattern and play it up and down the keyboard chromatically.
Is this something you’re planning to implement? It would be great if you could add or fix this feature.

I am thinking how this could be inserted into Live mode.
The easiest would be a shortcut or menu item that sets up a composition (assign the properly transposed phrase to each key) that can be played in Live mode.
It would be good to have multiple workspaces/compositions that you can switch between... because at the moment the current composition would be replaced.

I just saw this plugin pop up as I was reading your message, and it looks like it might be a good solution. In the video, you can see all the MIDI files displayed at the bottom, which you can click on.
What if there was a similar box that showed each section of the imported MIDI file? You could click on the section you like, press lock, and then play it chromatically across the keyboard. This approach would be much neater and easier to understand because the section currently playing would light up, so you'd always know which part to select.
This is very similar to how Serato Sample works, which is very user-friendly. The great thing about having this kind of interface is that each section (or box) could also have a variation tab where you can add creative changes, making it even more powerful.
