Usually they put out a .x update once a year around this time, but nothing since 2023?

I emailed them but so far no response (but my email has a bad habit of not delivering stuff, especially if it's not from the UK).

Anyone know what is going on?

Had to search them horrible social meda things I detest, but their FB post from earlier this year goes thusly...
SONONYM

So... It's been more than a year and a half since our last update, with the usual release cycle being roughly once a year.
Obviously, this has left some people wondering when the next Sononym update will arrive, or if it will arrive at all.
So, what's cooking?
It's quite simple, actually. We have been following our roadmap, fixing various bugs and adding new features. We were actually getting ready for the next beta test (thanks to those who have signed up!), but at the same time, we knew that - once again - we didn't manage to fix one particular pain point: that the software could still be really sluggish when browsing large sample collections.
So we made a big decision: to rewrite the entire data-access layer using recent technology advancements. And this basically amounted to a once-in-a-decade upgrade, which affected all aspects of the software and meant that we had to temporarily stop working on other features.
Fortunately, we are now done with that rewrite and back to our normal schedule.
So you can expect to hear more from us soon, including some incredible benchmarks from the all-new database engine.

Excellent, thanks for taking the time to post that.
