Tone2 Audio has released Hypersync, a soundset for their synthesizer-workstation Icarus3.

"Dive into the pulsating universe of electronic sound with Hypersync! Whether you're crafting driving EDM tracks, atmospheric pads, glitchy beats, or expressive arpeggios, Hypersync delivers interesting textures and movement."

Genres

EDM, Techno, Trance, Dance, Electronic, Trap, Cinematic, Soundtrack, Film score, Hiphop, and a wide variety of other music genres.

Highlights:
  • 202 patches meticulously designed for maximum expression:
  • 41 arpeggiators: dynamic sequences ready to ignite your compositions.
  • 161 gates: pulsating, syncopated patterns to energize your grooves.
  • Expert sound design that fully exploits Icarus's powerful wavetable engine.
  • Rich modulation possibilities — all the patches respond to mod wheel morphing the starting sound into a new evolving experience.
  • Properly normalized for consistent volume and fidelity.
  • Seamless installation and tight integration into the Icarus interface.
  • These aren't just static samples — they're fully crafted sound designs with expressiveness and range.
What's special about it?

Hypersync takes full advantage of Icarus's 3D wavetable capabilities, offering evolving and dynamic sounds that breathe and pulse with your performance. With its focus on arpeggiator and gate-driven patches, this set is a go-to for producers seeking rhythmic complexity, movement, and freshness.

Thank you for your feedback.

1) Can you explain this more detailed. I am not sure here what exactly you are refering to. Changing the distribution of the partials is already possible with the additive modes in Icarus3:
Within the oscillator select 'additive' instead of 'Mono' (on the left above the Vol knob). Then use the 'spread' knob to change the distribution.

2) Several spectal filters are already included. On the right of an osc select 'Filter->Lowpass Fade' or 'Filter->Highpass Fade' instead of 'None / Partial'. If there is demand for more spectral filters it is possible to add them for future versions.

3) This isn't something other users have requested to far. You can use the MSEGs for this. Route it to volume or osc volume in the matrix.

For #1, I am only talking about filter resonance. In the Luna synth and MSoundFactory, you can change how the filter self-oscillation sounds by changing the arrangement of the resonance harmonics or timbre. In Bitwig, you can also set the filter resonance to asymmetric or symmetrical. So with self-oscillation, you could change the resonance from sounding like a square wave to more organ-like. As for Spectral filters, I mean using a drawable filter that literally carves out selective harmonics such as bell or octave

Icarus is a top tier synth for me, I highly recommend picking it up!

Was hoping Gladiator might be featured too as that is the next one I'm interested in

Exactly my thoughts, same with Electra...

No sale EVER on the upgrade and I wont definitely pay nearly the same for the upgrade then for the whole synth on sale.

His decision, so I stay on 2 on both. If nothing is better then maybe 2x 29 or 39 for both, well....

I love how it sounds. Icarus is kind of like a modern Ensoniq synth, but it also shares traits with my Novation Peak. Gladiator reminds me of those 90s rompler and additive synths in a good way!

Love that yes I agree re: Ensoniq - I use Tom Ellard's transwave wavetables in it all the time - and the sheer number of operations is amazing. Special shutout for the formant and hollow modes ! Honestly, my most similar hardware is the Hydrasynth but lately I find myself in Icarus and Massive X more often than powering up the Hydra.

And your description of gladiator makes it sound even more exciting. Are you thinking additive like. Kurzweil style almost?

This has my interest. Big fan of the old Ensoniq transwave and wavetable synths and samplers. Are there any good videos showing this ? I see they promote mostly modern sounding patches, but I'd be more open to getting this to re create some older classic Ensoniq patches as you mentioned.

Icarus is a sensational synth. It has nothing to be ashamed of compared to other usual wavetable suspects. The sound is pristine, easy and quick to use, ultra low on the cpu and it's extremely powerful for transforming wavetables in many ways. Granular, FM, additive, resynthesis, you name it, all there.

Top tier synth, no doubt.

Good work Markus, you can be proud of this synth. Please keep it alive for many years to come!
