BBE Go Bye-Bye

BBE seems to be an ex-company.
https://www.ocregister.com/2025/10/31/g ... shut-down/
So for all of you out there who use BBE plugins, I'd recommend getting the latest versions.
https://plugins.bbesound.com/products/b ... dDownloads
https://plugins.bbesound.com/products/p ... dDownloads
I can't remember the authorization method, but it might need to connect to a server. It's hard to imagine that they would make sure owners will be able to install these plugins in the future, but I would be very happy to be surprised.

Surely there must be consensus by now...

My BBE Sonic Sweet license is administered by Plugivery so perhaps authorizations will still be possible.
Shame to see BBE go under. I've owned a hardware model 402 for what must be 35 years or so.
Looks like the team is the same one that's doing the Nomad Factory updates so perhaps the BBE plugins will live on.....

Yep, I don't think this means they won't coninue to exist, might be worth asking of course. What it already meant isn't changing, that it will take them forever to get GUI updates and Apple ASilicon support, but it will happen.Teksonik wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 12:52 am Looks like the team is the same one that's doing the Nomad Factory updates so perhaps the BBE plugins will live on.....

I find it disturbing that they threw all the guitar stuff in the trash. Could have sold it on the cheap or given it away.

I know they even sold their algos/tech for use in HD TVs and consumer stereo systems and car radios in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. With China able to clone/emulate that technology, seems like that ship has sailed.

Mostly I'm curious if Plugivery/Nomad hadn't already bought the patents to make BBE plugins?
It's pretty obvious it's Nomad tech used to bring the plugin versions to life, so it might not be the end of the plugins? Worth asking about like mentioend already.

I wonder who's going to be the next company to go down. They're dropping like flies man. I'm still reeling from Loomer.

emailed Pugivery about it, hopefully it's a positive response, i.e. they or Nomad own the intellectual property that is the Sonic Suite.

Man, I’ve just noticed Loomer Resound is not available anymore. I clicked on my old link to check if there was a black friday offer...masterhiggins wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 2:27 am I wonder who's going to be the next company to go down. Of course it would be a bassist punk rocker that's going dumpster diving in the back alley.Eric Bootow, founder of the Facebook group Punk Rock Bass Players and a longtime Fullerton-based bassist in bands like Jughead’s Revenge and Fourth In Line, fueled much of the Facebook furor when he posted photos and videos from the multiple dumpster diving outings he’s made to the trash bins behind the G&L workshop

I would be very tempted to dumpster dive G&L. Especially hearing they threw away good guitar parts.jamcat wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 4:30 amOf course it would be a bassist punk rocker that's going dumpster diving in the back alley.Eric Bootow, founder of the Facebook group Punk Rock Bass Players and a longtime Fullerton-based bassist in bands like Jughead’s Revenge and Fourth In Line, fueled much of the Facebook furor when he posted photos and videos from the multiple dumpster diving outings he’s made to the trash bins behind the G&L workshop

Most of the BBE Maximiser plugins outside the Sonic Maximiser are just macro'd EQ plugins anyways, so you aren't missing much. The "Mach Bass"is quite literally just a narrow bell filter. Even if it isn't the case that these likely wont disappear from the market with Nomad Factory handling development and distribution, they aren't really worth owning either

I use them so yeah they're worth owning regardless of your opinion.TIMT wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 10:39 am Most of the BBE Maximiser plugins outside the Sonic Maximiser are just macro'd EQ plugins anyways, so you aren't missing much.
