It's been quite awhile since I did this thread, and we've gotten TONS of new people since since then. My nick on here is obviously my real name. What's the story behind your nick?

I know I wonder about like what the HELL is a scuzzphut? :hihi:

I was in a band for years called Vortex, but when our bass guitarist got tired and cranky because we refused to play copy tunes,,he would talk to his girlfriend while working out songs.
After I fired his sorry ass,,(in front of his girlfriend) we didn't want to let it die,,so vtx was a way to keep the idea alive while erasing num nuts.
Now that I'm pretty well on my own,,I don't know why I kept it,,,fact I think I'm gunna change it now that I hear the story again....

There are varities of fish referred to in the aquarium hobby as "loaches" - freshwater tropical fish. Clown loaches, orange-finned loaches, dojo loaches, skunk loaches.. many kinds. I keep loaches, and loaches are some of the oddest-acting, most unusual and personality-filled freshwater fish you could keep. Take clown loaches.. they sleep fallen over on their sides, they make clicking noises, they will pile up on each other and are well-known for messing with their keepers (I've been splashed, had then sit upside-down in their caves until I finally looked at which point they swam off, laughing I'm sure). Their mouthes can generate a great deal of suction.. enough to pull a snail out of its shell (they love live snails) or punch a hole through a plant leaf! Loachkeepers call this "hoovering" after the vaccuum of the same name.

I frequent a message board dedicated to loachkeepers as well.. and long ago, we were kind of rambling on about whether loaches existed in the Ice Age. I postulated that there must have been the Great Wooly Loach - a giant clown loach, 20-30ft long and covered in waterproof fur, that would come to the shore and hoover mammoths and saber-tooth tigers into the water for dinner! Now almost extinct, the remaining Great Wooly Loaches live in the Bermuda Triangle area and randomly drag down ships and planes for amusement.

When I needed a name for my company, everything I could think of was taken.. except for Wooly Loach Productions! So, boom, I became WoolyLoach.

A long story for a short name, eh? :P

In similar fashion to a post up above, I usually use the name Crim or Coloradocrim online. Since there was a Krim on here, I decided to go with my alternate.

Plunge came about as I was considering 'taking the plunge' into music and songwriting. In other words, getting more serious about my game. My publishing company is Out on a Limb Songs (same idea) and my studio I've called Tireswing Studios (out on a limb... get it?). For those non-English speakers out there, to "go out on a limb" is analogous to taking a risk, doing something new that you're unsure about.

I had some land in the country that I called Harmony Gardens. I named my studio after the land, and it seemed sort of poetic, because I try to look for harmony in my life and music, and I'm always trying to grow. :) OK, it's a little idealized.
