Hyperbole. Revision related to random selection isn't "work" that is exactly comparable to manual creation, however, to dismiss it as not creative at some level is also incorrect. In any case it doesn't matter. This is a funny and somewhat manufactured culture war and all of you are front line soldiers of the Somme fighting pointlessly. I wouldn't worry about your "stardom", I'd be more concerned about whether you'll be able to keep your day job once the hype settles.
You need to adjust your weights here because you've very much incorrectly predicted my outlook on AI based on some questions I wrote that weren't even directed to you.
I was responding to the thread, your response was just convenient. IDGAF what you or anyone in this thread does or doesn't do with AI. I think that this moral argument is f**king hilarious and missing the point. Sorry, this isn't about the army of amateurs that roll out crap day in and day out in the hopes of being discovered. tl;dr: nobody is going to discover you, here, "you" is anyone reading this, not "you", per se.

You seem upset. Why do you care so much about this? 🤔

Anyone tried the synth in the OP?

Post

No, you have to give payment details for the trial. Honestly, it's pretty bad IMNSHO. It seems to be able to only create pretty limited synth sounds (crap, but that's my opinion) whenever this video was made. From this limited demo, it was terrible when it first came out. When I say terrible, I mean with respect to it's ability to understand prompts, hence, be more useful than a search bar on almost any adequate browser. Because I have to say it, the filters are shit.

Only good for ass organs IMHO.

This entire thread is fueled by unreasonable fear. This idea is not a threat. There are limitations to this problem that are almost entirely a function of limited data, no matter what approach you take. The market is saturated and populated with price sensitive consumers. This is not a true market for AI, it is a gimmick that might have seemed novel in 2022 to some naive consumers, but it's hanging on by the skin of its teeth today. Ask yourself why there aren't amazing competitors to this?

A good browser on a modern flagship synth with a randomizer is what this is trying to compete with.

EDIT: found the answer.

You know that's not true because everyone knows that ChatGPT is programmed to love everyone. But I wonder why you'd go to the effort of actually finding an AI when they are built into browsers these days, although Edge's Co-Pilot is powered by ChatGPT, so it's kind of the same thing, I suppose. I haven't actually used ChatGPT in 18 months or more now. And no-one's getting mad at you, I actually feel quite sorry for you; it must be hard maintaining the facade that you have any value to society and hating on everyone whose mere existence challenges that notion.

"Would you like me to generate a slightly drier and more sardonic version (better suited for Reddit or a debate forum)?" - ChatGPT

"No thanks. This will do it. " - Me

"Ahhhh, Bones. It absolutely will write a rebuttal and match the tone if asked. In fact, I entered several of your AI-related posts on the other thread and prompted it to counter the arguments you made while matching your style (which is considered “aggressive”). It assessed your point of view as being “narrowly focused on self.” Holy shit—that was a shock. Someone is going to have to tune those weightings. You’re known for very well-researched posts devoid of invective, so go figure. Not knowing that ChatGPT can write a rebuttal must have been a slip, because you never talk out of your ass.

I asked it to assess your readability score because I wanted it to meet you where you lived, so to speak. You’re characteristically open to the perspectives of others, and I thought it was important that the words it generated be captured with similar care. Regrettably, it couldn’t complete the analysis with confidence because there weren’t enough complete sentences to do the math. It settled on a grade-4 level—but you missed the central point, so that mission failed. It hasn’t quite arrived yet. Honestly, I didn’t understand what it wrote. So that makes two of us!

Don’t take it on the chin. LLMs have significant, persistent memory issues, and hallucinations are an operational hazard. None of it’s real. I’m sure you can relate.

P.S. When does our album drop?" - ChatGpt.

I'm not belittling anyone, just reminding those who need it that none of us are as good as we think we are. It's important work.
