Because they tried to make the "upgrade" to Vocalign 6 (from Vocalign 5 Ultra which I bought) a paid upgrade even though it was simply a rebrand, a bug fix, an undo button, a darker GUI and a couple of very, very minor workflow improvements.

This caused outrage amongst their customers and when I wrote on a forum about how outrageous it was they reached out to me privately and offered me a bigger discount. I publicised this, which caused an even bigger furore, so they had to offer it to everybody.

The whole thing was an utter disgrace and I swore to never spend another penny with synchroarts ever again. They were a good company but got taken over by venture capitalists who seemingly decided to gouge their customer base.

It happens but there are choices and I made mine.

Yup, I can't think of (m)any companies that got bought out by somebody else and ended up being better.

Yeah, maybe. But they bought it as a product to develop as opposed to buying an asset to sweat which is what seems to be going on most of the time.
