Anybody here using Softube Echoes? I'm familiar with Tape Echoes, but I don't think I'd ever heard of Echoes before and I'm sorta intrigued with it since it's on sale this week for $49 (reg. $149). The interface looks good to me and I see that it has six delay modes: Filter, Reverb, BBD, Tape, Pan, and Lo-fi. I'm curious to know if the Tape mode in Echoes is the same algorithm as in Tape Echoes?, but a quick search came up empty. Anybody here know?

I haven't put them directly side by side, but the tape mode on Echos, sounds much like Tape Echoes — if you dial in a corresponding amount of Drive, Dirt, and a touch of Wobble. Obviously Echos can do much more with different models, precise control over time/pan/level for up to 10 taps, and ducking etc.

Oh, thanks for the reminder - that brought it down to $41.65 and pushed me over the edge.

Yeah, that’s exactly what made it appealing to me.

Can this be used more than once? I was thinking to grab echoes right away and then maybe the EQ later.

I've received an e-mail 4 hours ago and my promo code let me buy Model 84 from $39 to $29,25.

I'll pass. Already have too many synths. Model 77 is tempting... if this cheap.

Softube Echoes vs. Tape Echoes
