Hey!
I updated my system from a very old mac pro 2010 (Mojave) to a Mac Studio M2 running Sequoia and Bitwig. I run into a very big problem now, where I cannot run my DAW and my normal system audio (playing back a mp3 file, or watching youtube) parallel. The system audio always crashes, so that there is total silence. Bitwig audio works normal, and as soon as I close my DAW, the system audio comes back normal. Now what I've done so far: I created an aggregate and added my interface (RME Fireface UFX) as well as Blackhole and selected that aggregate for the system audio. In Bitwig I selected only the Fireface as my Interface. No success..
I did the same with creating a multi output device instead of an aggregate, still no success..
I also switched interfaces, Focusrite Scarlett instead of the RME, no success..

I read that apple "optimized" the core audio that it works "exclusively" with the DAW when openend, but I cannot imagine, that I am the only one, who would want both to be running. For example sample devices like splice for example are not usable that way.

I even tried routing the audio from Blackhole on a audio track in Bitwig to listen to it that way, but again, when the system audio dies, there is no signal on that track either.

So if any of you guys experience the same issue or even better have some solutions to that problem, I would be more than grateful!

Have a great day!
Robin
