so I broke down and ordered Komplete Care 2005 limited time pre January 15th offer to pick up Absynth 3 and Battery 2 and whatever comes after.
it was an online transaction w/Florida Music
what exactly is going to happen now to actually get Absynth 3 and Battery 2, since I doubt they'll be in the physical package that will be delivered in 3-5 days and what the heck is in the box?

i did order it last week and a very cold UPS guy walked up the long driveway in the dark last night and delivered it.
got the Battery 2 loaded, and registered and d/l'ed the update
I'm liking all the bells and whistle per cell manipulation much more than I thought
but I do have a question.
I'm running a bit low on disk space so I didn't load the 3.7 mB of 'new' kits. If I have my Battery 1 kits and Synthetic drums kits is there anything in the 'new' kits that I'm missing -- or is it pretty much the kits I already have?

No printed manuals are included with Komplete Care - you do of course get a pdf file.
My Absy3 will ship "soon" according to NI, the 30 of Dec. 2004...

i'm trying to find out if it's worth making some room on my hard drive to load them up if I have the Battery 1 kits and the synthetic drums CD pack
or is it time to start setting some money aside for a firewire external drive
as well as what NI might announce at NAMM next week

I thought ABSynth 3 would be included instead of shipped later.
I thought there would be more Battery 2 kits. A lot more.

I just bought Komplete 2 in late November, so they shipped me Absynth 3 and Battery 2 for free, without the Komplete Care 2005 purchase, so it doesn't make sense for me to order the introductory offer. I could get the cheaper regular offer that doesn't include the above, unnecessary upgrades . . . but I'm really on the fence as to whether it would be worth my while. I wish they'd let us know what updates are planned for the next year so we could make an intelligent decision. I mean, upgrades to Kompakt and some of the other Komplete 2 applications are not ones I'd be spending money on if I have a choice. But if there's going to be a major Reaktor, FM7, Absynth (not likely) or Kontakt update, it would be a no brainer. Not sure if I'd spring for Pro53, B4, Spektral Delay or Vokator updates. I know companies are reticent to release plans for upgrades too early for fear of either being pipped at the post by their competitors, or unforseen programming issues forcing them to delay release and thereby gender user dissatisfaction . . . but at least some idea of what they're working on would be really nice.

i may have no reason for this, but i think the pre-order KC 2005 was set to expire the middle of this month to clear the way for some sort of upgrade announcement at NAMM

The Battery 2 kits are ok. I wasn't blown away by them. Yes, I have Battery 1, Synthetic and Studio Drums as well. There were I think 3 or 4 kits that were overlap from Battery 1 and the Synthetic kits. Sorry, it's been a bit since I wrote the review for Grooves Magazine on it. That issue should be hitting newsstands as I type this. Anyway, I was hoping for more kit content too. Oh well.

My Komplete care came with the Battery 2 CD, still wondering and waiting on when I will get Absynth 3 which is what I truly wanted anyways.

not had much time to play with battery2 but like some of the new kits, they seem to have more life (if that makes sense)
still waiting for Absynth3 and have had no reply from NI to my emails of the the last 2 weeks
hummmph, maybe they are all on holiday with the extra money from the care kit?

I ordered Komplete Care today. I wanted Battery 2 anyway, and I'm gambling that Reaktor 5 is around the corner.
I just have this gut feeling that R5 will be announced at NAMM. R4 has been around for a long while now... fingers crossed!

Will definitely be interesting to see what gets upgraded. I agree with Lazlo that R5 is a good bet. I also figure they might possibly do something to Pro53 if nothing else just to have it count as a feather in their Komplete Care upgrade cap. 
Then maybe Kontakt? I could see something with Kontakt maybe later this year.
Another thing that I think would be cool would be something like a special discount on Guitar Rig.
...any and all of those items would make it worth it (in addition to Battery and Absynth, of course).

I caved in on this as well, and ordered it yesterday. I'd like to see an upgrade to Spektral Delay to included convolution reverbs - that's one of the few things NI haven't come out with yet.
Other than that, updates to Reaktor and all the samplers (as they all seem to use variations on the same engine) would be cool. Can't think what they can add to any of the others...
