Gforce MAP

I picked it up yesterday. There’s nothing about it that doesn’t exist in other software, but it’s an interesting combination of features, and every time I started playing with it from an init patch, I came up with something that I really liked.

Why is it so laggy compared to most other synths? Is MAP not properly optimised?nrosko wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 5:29 pm I really like it, for me it's one of the more interesting synths out there. Overall I like the GUI but not the clunky wave selection & laggy preset changes.
Does the UI / preset loading also lag a bit on macOS, like it does on Windows?

I was wondering if the lag had something to do with the method GForce is using to display the graphics for the UI of MAP.
Since their previous new synth Halogen FM also had some issues with the UI in some DAWs like FL Studio on Windows. The graphics when used as a plugin had some issues dropping the framerate of the DAW (which were less of an issue when the plugin was "bridged").
The only other plugin I had previously experienced noticeable laggyness with was Cableguys Shaperbox 2. But they completely fixed that in Shaperbox 3.
I figured, since some of the newer GForce plugins elicit some graphical lag issues, that might be the cause also for MAP?

Yes to fixing the lag please.

Also loving this. People saying it sounds thin need their ears syringed. I made 3x really nice patches/sounds, from an init patch in a few mins. Always good to have this highly focused approach to synthesis.
Wish it had an LPG and the wave folding could be a bit more rubbery sounding. But overall a fun and inspiring synth with a gorgeous sound.

Is a little "buzzy" but that's fine for what it is. A lot of interesting modulation making patches quite active, I think that makes it quite stand out. Has a beautiful sound if you can look (listen) past the buzziness and high end fizz; but with patches that have an ensemble and bassy tendency it actually adds to the character, check out nice sounds towards the end of this video at 19:00...

I really like the synth. It is slightly different from what I had before. I like how fast I can come up with something unique and alive-sounding. The only downside is the CPU load where I would expect way less aliasing that in its current state.

The generative arpeggiater is what got me interested, and then failed to impress so I gave it a pass.

It would cool if by clicking on the modulation animation square, the modulated parameters would be instantly highlighted. That way we didn't have to open the modulation matrix to see what is being modulated.
Second, when dragging the yellow slider in modulation animation window to 100%, the slider disappears altogether. Please leave it visibl there. It is hard to understand where it it otherwise (regardless the shaded area - it is too weak shaded).
FR: add another Unison algorithm with no so chaotic panning of unison voices. I mean even with 5 voices there are times when most of them prefer one side (left of righ) more than other.
Then there is a bug - in the unison window there is a HOLD parameter. When i turn this off, the hold is stll active after pressing a note again.
Another thing, why the unison is working only in MONO mode? I thought that I'm doing something wrong, the checked the manual and discovered that this is intentionally. So no unison pads for us? Weird decision.
Changing the waveforms in OSC is lagging. Why not to allow mouse wheel scrolling?

But i also didn't like the whole GUI.
The GUI of their other synth (Halogen Fm) looks cool, why MAP is not similar?
