Yeah the browser is one of its strong points, yes it could be better regarding samples and being able to tag/sort but for everything else it's the best goingjrwaltb wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 4:49 am The browser is still the only one I have used that can play a track/sample as if it was on a track and have real time vst's process the audio.

Imo, Reaper and FLS have a much much more flexible system by being able to route the browser preview to any track you like...
And I am sure you can do similar stuff in Cubase...
The most silly thing on earth you can do is routing the browser preview through the master as there are living normally plugins which you don´t want to apply when choosing a sample...
I.e. when you preview an already maximzed Kick or other sample with much low frequency content through another Maximizer/Limiter/Clipper you might have on your master, you´ll get a complete wrong preview of the actual file...
Therefore DAWs with a thought through Browser preview have as well the ability to unroute those "preview" tracks from the Master!
Room/headphone correction plugins shouldn´t be on the Master but a Listen Bus ...

I have no idea how other people work, but I'm kinda surprised people are even still auditioning sounds when they have stuff on the master channel. The only time I put anything on the master channel is when the song is finished and I want to get a little extra volume/eqing/subtle flavor, etc. I suppose there are times when I go back to tweak or add something, but I'd bypass all the master effects in that case.
Not trying to shame anyone or anything like that, I was just surprised since my workflow is so different.

Afaik this isn´t so rare for people using the "top - down" mixing method where they put already the dynamic plugins on the Master and Bus channels and "mixing into them" from the very start of the song creation... which isn´t bad at all...
No matter how you work personally or if this is relevant to each user... a DAW should be flexible enough to adapt to different situations/methods and allow for different setups but this is where many of them fail... i.e. Ableton isn´t very flexible in this regard...
Imo, at least many of them were smart enough to not use the Master channel for browser preview as this isn´t the right place for sure... at least not as the only available option.

I have it on Control Room in Cubase
For me it is useful if towards the end of a mix I want to change a sound that I was avoiding all along or somethingconcealed identity wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 3:09 pm I have no idea how other people work, but I'm kinda surprised people are even still auditioning sounds when they have stuff on the master channel.
different.
Also sometimes I send out rough mix to artists and they want to hear it like mastered and at that time if something bugs me after the master fx chain I try to change it before I send.
And a lot of of people have a little comp and eq or something from the get go.
So lots of scenarios and as Trancit said this should be flexible in all DAWs.

i love s1 threads bc there is so many complaints about s1 that it rises to advice about cubase. I haven't messed around with control room too much but thats good to know I can put a headphone correction plugin like morphit in control room for the few times im mobile.

1. Would it really Kill Presonus to add a feature that connects all of our Effects routed for Sends on each new track ? like cubase does
2. Would it really Kill Presonus to add a feature to allow us to realtime Pitch our samples in the browser ? like cubase does
3. Would it really Kill Presonus to add the ability to tag our Samples + Favorite VST Effects and Instruments + Track Presets ? like cubase does

While I don't necessarily understand what you mean by 1, these are the types of changes that I agree, are baffling to me that they don't get worked on.trusampler wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 10:06 pm 1. Everyone always says "well what more could you want, what more innovation could you possibly need!?!!"
Like, I dunno, how about when I import the chord track from another project, it actually maintains the colours I've painstakingly organized them with? Better yet, how about not having to painstakingly do something like colour like-chords similarly? How about automatic chord colouring? Or user palettes for chords?
Just one example, but, like your comment above, I don't consider these "massive innovation" more like a refinement in the right direction. Instead of just implementing something halfway and abandoning it. Surely something like retaining the colours of chords would fall into the "basic programming" category (honestly it seems like an oversight) but it's been stagnant for years, as though they just gave up on the chord track completely.
That's just one thing too. How about putting the chord viewer embedded into the top toolbar, where there is lots of unused space, instead of a floating window covering other elements.
I'd love the browser area to be more like a dock, similar to graphical design software, where you can snap in different elements. Like, why can't the Macro bar be optionally opened in the browser, where drag and drop functionality is smoother?
There is so much tightening that could happen, that has nothing at all to do with massive innovation. They could literally just copy better programs...
Of course, all of these suggestions were feature requests that are now in the landfill.

If you have created a number of Send Effects on your mix console eg: FX1 - VERB - FX2 DELAY - FX3 - CHORUS
then any new audio track or instrument track, would automatically connect these on the console. at the moment, we have to constantly re route everything..
Cubase has had this feature for 20 years , the same developers of cubase / nuendo also code for presonus..
these are no brainer features that should be added.this is where you should have the ability to then save SENDS as save track presets, but since we can't save SENDS and also tag our Track presets, this just adds to the constant let down of features that should have been in studio one by now.

The year is almost over, and Presonus still shares some tips & tricks videos on their Youtube/Instagram, and there is absolutely no news regarding the next "big" update. And when asked, they just delete the comment.
This is mindboggling to me.
I just need a new browser with good features added and a better launcher (like Ableton) in order to be a big update.

Honestly, I would hate that, since I would never send every track to every FX bus.trusampler wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 2:07 am #1

You would hate that your sends are automatically set up for proper routing ? Wow, ok .. well it's working exactly how you want it now then enjoy.. Others who may have more complex routing to do, MAY just need it to work better, but sorry, wouldn't want to offend those who wouldn't rather have automatic routing.

I feel like poor gregor wants to share more, but he's forced to keep making videos of features that have been around for ages, and slightly dumbed down approach of the most basic functions. Looks like Fender has destroyed a great dawFornicras wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 5:54 am The year is almost over, and Presonus still shares some tips & tricks videos on their Youtube/Instagram, and there is absolutely no news regarding the next "big" update. I agree about the browser, it's sad they had to implement a rent to own feature "air quotes
