Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a workaround or patch that would let Sibelius, which only supports VST2 plug-ins, load Pianoteq 9, which now provides only a VST3 version.

As far as I understand, Sibelius requires a .dll (VST2) file, but Pianoteq 9 no longer includes one — Pianoteq 8 was the last version to offer a VST2 build.

Has anyone found a VST2–VST3 bridge or another solution that would allow Pianoteq 9 to work inside Sibelius? Any insight, patch, or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Harry

You could try the demo of Metaplugin - Know it does bit-bridging and vst<->au bridging, though not sure if it does VST2<->VST3 bridging

Demo at the bottom of this page - https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst- ... x-wrapper/

EDIT: Yep just tested it, loaded a VST2 instance of Metaplugin in Reaper and then dragged Pianoteq 3.vst onto the UI, all loads fine and can be routed to the DAWs midi input and audio output

This post seems to a duplicate of one you made in another thread; Isaw the other one first, so Ive posted there about the xlutop tool specifically for wrapping a VST3 plugin as a VST2 dll file.

yeah, and there was another one before that in which several people including myself added information to help this individual. yet it's still going around and around.
obviously this person wants a free option or can't be arsed to actually try shit for themselves.
