Doubt it, 14.4 is a requirement now .. I'd guess they'll bump it up to 15.x next. At least for me Tahoe 26.0.1 and 26.1 were a major PITA in general. Laggy, unresponsive and 3rd party plugins in Logic 11.2.2 would sometimes open a defunct GUI with an inability to change settings, but would work after closing an re-opening the window.

I'll happily skip Tahoe altogether.

Usually the second to latest macOS version is sufficient. At least that's what it was like the last years.
They may cram some AI BS in there, though, and ask you to use Tahoe in order of being able to use it.

^^^yup.
I have no intention of moving to Tahoe in the near future. Removing Launchpad pisses me off. It is the first thing I go to when I boot.
I hope the stem splitter gets even better. Kinda useless to wish for bug fixes for longstanding bugs.

Yes, I think so too. Not interested in upgrading to Tahoe either (at least for next few months, likely when 11.4 forces us too, which I hope it doesn't).

I was also PO'd about the removal of Launchers. I haven't moved to Tahoe on my main machine because of it. The Apps app sucks, though if you're into using the keyboard, you can still find stuff quickly. I miss the folder and organizational abilities though.

They should've just made the Launcher windowed instead of full screen.

they should just make the ipad version for desktop at this point:
- way more modern UI
- fresh code
- better browser

and so much more, hopefully it will be unified one day

Post

Not long to find out. The most late release in recent years was November 30, 2023.

I always find it funny when people look at a GUI and absolutely definitely know what the code base looks like.

What part do you think is fresher than in the desktop version? Desktop Logic and Garage Band are one unified code base. Chances are, the iPad versions are just another build target from the same base.
..off to play with my music toys - library music production.

LaunchBar. It existed before Launchpad. https://www.obdev.at/products/launchbar/index.html

I think it's annoying too that they removed Launchpad. I don't know what they are thinking sometimes.
