I’d almost just say to break down and buy the pedal, I have their generation loss, their stuff is great. :tu:

I had the MOOD, and it was both great and terrible. Sound quality/character, great. Interface, terrible. Whoever thought that DIP switches on the back of the pedal was a good idea is a fool. A FOOL, I SAY! A small screen with contextual buttons and two knobs would really make sense.

I'm still looking for a plugin that can match what the Chase Bliss Mood MK2 brings, micro looping, granular time stretching + pitch delay n verb.. It's strange none of the plugin developers seem to understand fx the way the guitar peal fx makers do.. no one seems to do what they do in one unit, this is why they are beyond unique. :tu: Still looking all plugins welcome thanks guys
Different formats demand different choices. A pedal developer has to make choices based on developing a full idea in a small space, because they know it has to fit on a pedal board with other pedals. Something like a MOOD has to be small because it’s not something that most people want to use all the time.

Software takes up no physical space. It can incorporate several different functions, but it doesn’t have to. There’s not as much pressure to. The good thing is, you can customize your system to suit your needs and preferences. Go way beyond what MOOD does.

To add to what’s already been mentioned, look at Arturia’s FX Collection. The EFX models do really cool things, as do all the non-emulators. Mix and match. Be the captain of your ship.

NI’s Molekular is fun too. All the stuff by Output is great. The Audio Damage plugins are great, and free versions of the older ones are available.

Heh, that's why you gotta use them with Live, so you can control all that stuff with M4L. :D

Which is why my MOOD got returned. Great idea, but not implemented in a way that works for me, even though I'm a Bitwig user. I just don't understand the "hey, let's give them all this flexibility, but make it really awkward to get at," mentality. If Chase-Bliss started releasing plugins, I'd be on them like RFK Jr. on roadkill, but in pedal form? Not for me.

I get it, that said, you could probably manage it in Bitwig too or maybe some other way that works better for you, it's just midi control. Though there would not be any snazzy UI. Anyway,
aside from an lcd screen and menu, I'm not sure what would be a better way for them than the jumpers. Personally, I'd rather have the jumpers.

I only have the one pedal so far, since I have been too cheap to buy any more.

Let me clear up some things here :

I owned the Mood MK1 - mono version, loved it, but eventually sold it off for the Hologram Microcosm. ( stereo ) // I am mainly interested in a plugin / / or a developer who kind of understands the thinking process of the Mood MK2 , which I will most likely be buying.
I get the point in building FX chains, and I do, but the issue here, is no one that I have found so far, seems to get the micro looping and pitch / time stretching down in a way like pedal makers like Red Panda // Chase Bliss // or Hologram etc.. do..

Honestly without finding a great software micro looper vst, I'm gonna have to spend the $400 lol just facts.

I currently use Sound Better HALO for Microcosm or Micro looping duties, it works great.. But I'm always looking for a better solution that can handle more duties.. As it doesn't timestretch etc.. besides that's the whole point I was hoping to not have to create a complex Chain of 15 plugins, this is the beauty of the Mood MK2. Guitar Pedals in general, they cover so much ground. It's a wonder why plugin developers aren't as far along as the FX Pedal developers ..

I've tried all the suggestions and more, but it's looking like I'll be adding the Mood MK2 soon.

Did you try the Misha Mansoor? It has a looper, on top of the glitch stuff. I'm also curious if you tried Audio Damage Circa or Enso.

Post

I tried your suggestions of the audio damage stuff, they do have some interesting plugins. I still must try Enso and Misha Mansoor , cool.. I'll try to track these down tonight..

Thanks and cheers to everyone who's on a similar hunt, these pedals can get really expensive.. Would love a better more practical option with total recall as plugins are soooo much more practical, not just cost wise, but u name it.

I get the pedal thing, personally, I would go for the Blooper and use some reverb plugin. YMMV
