Latency with Guitar Rig

Hi there
I bought a UMC22 BEHRINGER only to be able to play with REAKTOR 's guitar rig. It's been installed automaticaly though No sign of connection showed.
(Windows 11) It works,but i expérience latency I'm wondering if it would be better with a pilot (setting Asio's buffer and so on) i've been searchin for a while at Behringer's but did not found a pilot.

The BEHRINGER UMC22 uses ASIO4all, check https://asio4all.org/help/instruction-manual/


If does not work, try a different cable and USB port.
If you are using an ASRock motherboard, plug the USB audio interface in one of
the ASRock yellow/orange USB ports.

Thank you very much for answering me Well the fact is ASIO 4 ALL is already in the PC...The connection between the Behringer and the PC is direct (in one of the Usb socket left)
I've read somewhere(?) that it's not right to do so,because of the extra consumption it takes of the computer (?) Whatever,i'll check your links .

There is even "ASIO for FL studio" ,though i do NOT own FL studio
And maybe i should uninstal this one,because,when the system use it (by accident (?) nothing works ans i have to reset on ASIO 4 ALL

This is unintentionally very funny.

Somewhere in your audio settings, there is something called “buffer size” or “sample buffer.” You want it to have as low a number as possible, but start with 128. If you’re getting crackling increase it to 256. If your CPU usage is fairly low at 128, you can try going to 64.

Thank you 4 responding,and glad that i made you smile fact is i know what you are pointing at. I've performed these settings with every vst i use ( several TONE2, ARTURIA's Pigments ,REAKTOR 's and some others i don't recall now i'm writing these lines.

BUT in the case of the Behringer (installed instantly,without even appearing in a bubble (down left on the screen),NOT even mentionning "pilot installation,click to see the statut " there is no settings box to choose buffer size,no choices such as Windows/Direct/or ASIO . There's No dialog box at all.

So l'll check later (at the moment rain,violent stormy weather/thunder
all my gear's unplugged from the wall)
i'll check if i'm able to find a pilot for the Behringer, some kind of instal program (it is an old interface now in 2025,and it is used on Windows 11)
And of course,check again the buffer for Guitar rig 's ASIO's settings.

Something seems lost in translation. What you call a 'pilot' is usually called a 'driver'.

The lack of a proper ASIO driver is the cause of your latency problems.
For low latency your DAW needs direct access to the audio interface. That is what ASIO does.

Asio4All is merely a hack. It offers the ASIO protocol, so a DAW has access to for instance onboard sound from motherboards, sound cards without their own ASIO driver. But you do not get a direct connection, the data still passes several software layers of Windows which are responsible for mixing audio of several programs, converting the sample rate, etc.

Alas, the only good solution is to buy a better interface with native ASIO support.

Well i get what you are pointing at.

But, i ain't using any Daw.
I solely play (small Arturia keyboard)on standalone vst's in which ASIO' set up is available,without issues of latency.

It is when my guitar is plugged on the UMC22 BEHRINGER, that latency appears ...I guess you might be right
What's needed is a better interface (soundcard)

Not only i've found the "driver"
BEHRINGER ASIO-USB CONTROL PANEL 2.8.40 (ultra-low latency driver
for PC audio optimisation) Now there's no more latency from the system,playing with Guitar rig(maybe a bit from my stiff fingers,with the cold and also because i've become rusty) but now this Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 is essential for the whole system to produce sound.It took THE audio control.

It did not came that easy you know...i had to instal in/out,reboot the computer several times,change the usb socket,getting more frustrated
as the time went by...at last it finally works.
