Interesting on my PC it doesn't want to update anything, and doesn't ask for a reboot, but It still doesn't even start, I just don't get this, maybe I should wait until v1.1 or v2.0? (hope not)

Post

dvdvelde, the same problems here, the setup wants to update my files, but when I reboot the machine it again asks for rebooting the system!

Do I need the 2nd service pack?

There must be a solution!

I wanted to try this today but I'm gonna wait till dvdvelde says something about the last coupla posts concerning system file updates...

I'm on Windows XP SP1...don't want to rock that boat since everything is stable in the DAW at this point!

I just tried installing it on my WinXP Home with SP1 under the default install path. When I ran the AAMS executable, it updated the files and rebooted. Upon reboot, I noticed that there was no entry for AAMS under the Start Menu. The install seemed to only be half setup.

I then went to the aams folder and ran the setup file (MS-DOS batch file). That seemed to install the rest of the files in the folder (did not require a another reboot) and put an entry into the Start menu. The program then started fine.

It sounds like a few people are having different installation problems but maybe some of you can try to click on the setup file in the aams folder after the first installation attempt? Maybe it will work for some of you?

I have a dual boot so I will try later to install it under my WinXP Pro with SP2 and see what happens.

Cheers,

Rabban

Hello , i have deleted some posts over here.
Kylen and me solved the re-boot and not-working problem for him, as i think it would be the same for you.
You can download the NEW installer version, tomorrow.
BUT!
You can download it only when my site www.curioza.com under download says;
-> AAMS V1.0 - Rev.B <- (if its not reading like this, i have not updated it yet, then wait.)
This will much more bullet proof installer for you and other users who had the same probs, rebooting and not working! It will be up later, and i will post here when its up!

Most DAW users are steering clear of SP2, it provides no benefit to them and I went back to SP1 due to SP2 issues. Most of us are staying with SP1, please consider this as we cant use the program currently.

Hi dvdvelde ! I just wanted to make sure I understand and don't assume anything (hehe, too late!)...

I am on Windows XP SP1 - I'd like to install AAMS but I'm thinking I don't want the installation to remove or change any existing system files. Do you have a list of the ones AAMS installer messes with for AAMS dependencies? Maybe it's just a few...

Thanks!

I'm with Kylen. Also XP SP1 and my DAW is stable I'm not anxious to install SP2 myself.

Blahbalh, what about those who have SP2, install in defualt directory, no reboot needed/asked for, and still can't run the damn thing (like me! hmmm maybe I'm the only one with this problem) :?:

Note: I'm a tweakfreak so I might have removed something with XPlite or nLite or whatever, is there anything I need other than VB dll's :?:

Shamanix ; If you dont give me more info, i cannot help you. Did the install finish ? Did you find AAMS in your startup menu ? Doesn't it start ? Tell me more then this. Did you download the latest version from my site ?

For the record, I run XP home, SP1. AAMS installed painlessly onto my system with no reboot needed.

Just getting to grips with the prog now, and for what you get, I believe its worth persevering with. It's unique, educational, and VERY interesting. This could develop into something really special.

Denis: (the dev) after being guided to your site, and being excited by your software AAMS, I introduced you to this forum, for reasons that must now be obvious.

I believe that KvR is the best home recording knowledgebase on the net, frequented by genuine, decent people, who will offer credit AND guidance where due, in equal measures.

You have been here for two days, and AAMS has already taken many steps further towards becoming the succesful prog that your efforts deserve.

Stick around

And as for now you are about the only one reluctant to try it. There are allready xxxx downloaders and users using AAMS. Give the installer a try
Do you have their names handy :D

hehe - OK then thanks - your last post mentions some stuff I don't know about since I don't do WIndows XP software distributions.

Seriously though - I'll go ahead and install it later today...

BTW - how'd it go One? :D
