Waveform Pro version 13.5.13 Constantly Crashing (and Biotek 2/3 was crashing WF before the update)

My Waveform latest build 13.5. whatever is still crashing. Continously even on brand new computer. Anyone get any answers as to why it keeps crashing. And, its a lot. Anything I do it crashes put midi on track crashes. Bput instrument on track crashes. Render something then crashes.

You're not giving us a lot to go on, but I'll take a shot in the dark.

IF you are on Windows and IF whatever=13, there was a problem introduced as a result of updates to the underlying JUCE framework and/or something to do with the presence (or lack?) of some cursed font. So at the moment, 13.5.8 has been made available at the bottom of the downloads page and 13.5.15 is available in the beta section of the website. The .8 version seems to fix things for people and .15 may also do the same, but the number of people here willing to try it is very low. Or they don't come back to tell us. I never had any issues with 13.5.13, so I can't say if 13.5.15 is a fix or not.

If your situation is something else, who knows? Maybe a few more details will help us help you. Your wording could imply that you were having issues before you installed whatever, which would mean you're experiencing something unique.

I assume there will not be a problem with opening projects that have been saved in newer versions when going back to 13.5.8 ?

I think it only has an issue with full version changes. Maybe also .5 version changes, but I'm not sure. I have downgraded point versions a few times and never run into problems. And if you're feeling bold you can open the Edit file in a text editor and change the appVersion parameter.

I notice similar behaviour and cannot recognize a pattern, seemingly random actions can get it to crash. I hope it's a sign for a general, easier to fix, issue.

Not making backups of any of your data worth keeping it would anyway be inexcusable. This is a general matter of course, and not related to Waveform only. If, for whatever reason, you wouldn't have cared for this,
then regarding your particular case of downgrading Waveform make at least a copy of files *.tracktion and *.tracktionedit for having a fair recovery chance before changing to a different version (downgrade of upgrade).

Support got back to me, they have fixed the underlying JUCE issue and will post a new build in about 2 days.

Could you include your OS? I think that there have been issues on Windows and on Macs but I think they are separate issues.

I just installed Waveform OEM (came with my original Mixer), version 13.5.13 along with the default plugins that came with the software and it crashes on me constantly with no explanation. It just says it crashed and needs to shut down. I'm running the latest version of Windows 11, completely updated. I'm an IT Systems Admin by day and I've completely cleaned up the system and made sure everything is up to date but it still constantly crashes. No third Party anything. Drivers are for the Tascam Model 16. I'm really new to all of this Audio production stuff and with DAW'S and Mixers and interfaces so I don't know the language of terminology used in the process. Just saying. Trying my best to learn from YouTube videos, but again with the terminology stuff. Yeah, it's all Greek to me which makes it extremely difficult to follow along with most of it.
