In general it sounds good. I feel it could use some more energy in 300–700 cycles range.
When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

sam this is really good. I do feel that great bass should be bigger. It sounds like you do it in mono. I'd put a chorus on it like Thorus which has presets for bass. Your kick is great, same with pads. The bells at the start may be a tad loud, but it's got a great groove and good feel. Nice work.

Thanks Osiris. Re the bass the sub is mono but the top rolling bass has some width (but probably not much). Can I ask how you use chorus on bass, assuming you use it as a send effect but any info appreciated. I have used send rx delays on bass but never a chorus and I'm always up for experimenting with new ideas.

I only started using Thorus because it has presets specifically for Bass. Some are too much. A couple are great and UVI is smart enough to program these so they don't phase or sound weird. One actually makes the bass bassier. Another trick is to put Basslane on the Master and set it to low mono with side width BUT turn the blend mix down to 20, 10 percent.

Ah cool thank you. I have basslane so will give that a go 👍

Man, that is one punchy kick. How many layers if I may ask? I would be hard pressed to believe that's just one sample.

Elsewhere, sounds really good overall. The vocals are kind of reggae like. At least to my ears. Really enjoyed listening to this.

Thanks wagtunes, glad you enjoyed it.

good spot on the vocals as they are from a dance hall reggae sample pack. The kick is one single sample however it was from a techno kick sample pack and I actually reduced the punch a bit with articulate and eq. I would definitely agree that the pack creator must have used layers and/or saturation and processing as the whole pack hits hard.

"Illume": Well, I listen to the composition first, then the mix. The
composition is very well done. I would call it easy-listening dance
music. There are some brilliant melodic ideas that make the track
stand out from the crowd. The vocal parts are fitting and give the
whole track character and vibrancy.

Overall: Well done and pleasant to listen to. :tu:

Thanks enroe 👍. Melody/Melodic ideas are an area I struggle with and have been trying to improve. Glad to hear I am on the right track.
