OpenDAW - New open source DAW

Browser-based systems can make collaborative systems easier (depending on your workflow obviously). Libre Office, for example, is saying real-time collaboration is now possible using their browser-based version. Of course, real-time requirements for an office suite may differ from those for audio but the importance of this depends on use case.

I don't know why it won't open my project. It won't open anything, as soon as Open command is clicked, returns error immediately.

Not surprising that a browser-based DAW would be a thing one of these days. The browser version seems to lack a lot of features for now - including a manual (why would it be lacking that?!) - but I'm cautiously intrigued as to where this goes from here.

I think there have been browser based DAWs before. I thought the company that bought cakewalk had one. I think it’s called Bandlab.

The design really is on-point. Minimalistic, yet very informative. Well made.

In the latest Polarity video he said it'll be open sourced later, after the basics has been created.

This should be open sourced now. It's based on another program, with the same name and they are violating the GPL license agreement by keeping the source closed.

No, it is not based on another program. openDAW will be open-sourced under GPL 3 soon.

Its open source; if you want it to run standalone, grab the source code and whatever javascript toolchain you think will actually allow you to build it that way.
