But it's a comparison video. You would assume same settings when comparing an emulation to the real device, and as a result the same sound. Both are off; difference in settings, difference in sound.Vortifex wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:38 pmI'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that he probably didn't feel it necessary to physically move all the controls into exactly the right position for each presetDark Fiber wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:35 pm That comparison video is really awful, feels rushed as hell.

Well I personally wouldn't let something like that put me off trying the demo at least. If you're familiar with the hardware then you should be able to tell if the parameter settings are similar are not

As if you would ever work on a virtual synth and then despise it because a dial on the envelope is a bit different looking than what you supposedly remember to be on some hardware. Gimme a break. Who creates sound like that? Exactly, no one.Dark Fiber wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:35 pm Would that mean that you have to dial in Airwave in a completely different way than a JP8080 while this is an emulation?
You tweak until it sounds good (or not good).
I can sense you need a friend or two.

Wow, this almost makes me want to switch back to Windows.
OK, totally kidding, but this seems like a great synth for PC users and a Mac version would be an insta-buy for me if that ever happens. Very impressed!

I'm pretty sure the knobs/sliders on the hardware aren't motorized or anything like that, so when you load a preset (patch) they won't automatically reflect the current values for the sound you're hearing.Dark Fiber wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:35 pm He tries to play the same sounds, but when you look at the devices the envelope settings are totally different.

Yeah, I'm assuming that Adam simply ported the presets over from the hardware to the plugin, so what you're hearing is the same internal parameters where the plugin actually updates the controls to reflect them and the hardware obviously does not.NAD wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:32 pmI'm pretty sure the knobs/sliders on the hardware aren't motorized or anything like that, so when you load a preset (patch) they won't automatically reflect the current values for the sound you're hearing.Dark Fiber wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:35 pm He tries to play the same sounds, but when you look at the devices the envelope settings are totally different.

Most likely the upcoming JE-8086, which runs the original JP-8080 firmware.

Aside: Some other people seem to have heard a rumor about Flowstone adding Mac support, but I can't imagine where they heard such a thing. If they ever actually announced that, half of KVR would riot and we'd all know the details within an hour.
I hate signatures too.

Does this come in vst3 format because Cubase 14 does not like vst2 anymore.

JE-8086 will be superior as it's the actual JP8K minus any AD/DA from the hardware.Electrohead wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:49 pmWhat is meant by this??? I was already to buy and was like UGGGG no MAC. I am not familiar with this Dev, but his sound sets and VST’s sound great!!

Picked it up. Been waiting for that sound for years. Finally.
