The LinnStrument turns out to be an ideal platform for trying out alternative scales and tunings. I have created the PitchGrid VST plugin (currently in closed beta) for scale exploration and a connector to the LinnStrument. You can retune your scales interactively by turning knobs, and the Linnstrument gets re-mapped in real-time. See it in action here:
The goal is to lower the barrier of entry into microtonality/xenharmony/alternative scales. Let me know what you think. If you want to try it, please write an email to peter at pitchgrid dot io and I'll get you started.

Thanks for this post, Peter. I think your app will be very helpful to the LinnStrument microtonal community.

Looks and works really good, have just tried the available version of the PitchGrid, and it is really an interesting concept that can be plugged in quite easily. I've also tried pitchgrid mapper, and while only linnstrument 128 is supported, I can see a huge potential for my case, once bigger linnstrument model is supported.
