Its better to spend money on controlers, masterkeyboards, mics, mix.

Recently Ive been thinking about Live4.
Ive been very close to buy it (discount50%due to Quatafire).

In fact they offer good quality effects, but the VST implement is horrible (for freeVSTs witch ive tested).

Finaly ive havent do that.Ive found EnergyXT.
:hihi:

Every free VST I use in LIVE works fine .
And what is so horrible about drag - drop - arm track - play - record - automate clip envelopes etc etc ..
Every single VSTi I listed further up from this post is 100% stable in Live 4 !!!!!!!!!!

Computer Music says that you can make music with the "Studio" that comes "free" with every mag. Anybody up to the challenge? How many can actually make a tune with the CM "Studio"??

I use CMuzys all the time. I love it for MIDI ( when it doesn't malfunction ). I don't use the VST's that come with it. However, there's everything one needs on the disk.

BONES wrote:How you can think that songs with tempos ranging from 88 to 160 BPM can possibly sound the same is beyond me.
Bones, changing the bpm doesn't affect the sounds,it just change the tempo. :hihi:

EDIT:
fractalism, having listened to the mind-numbingly boring mp3's that you put up on 26 Aug 04, I think you've got a damned hide to accuse anyone else of having a samey sound. You may use a few different sounds bu tthe feel is almost identical in all of them. Maybe it just shows how little you get from music?

ehhmmm... how on earth do you feel that Ambient breaks and progressive house/trance sound the same...I think you should visit www.dancetech.com/~mindless and check out my tracks...or better yet, listen to them here:

done quite some commercial clips (for multimedia), also longer songs presented at art festivals. I also use commercial software. it's true what they say.

also it's good for betatesting because (if things go Murphy route) it crashes gracefully - some other apps often require system reboot to continue working properly.

But it defintiely changes the mood/feel which is what music is about, not what sounds you use. SkREAMflesh [86] is scary whilst PSYkObomb [160] is aggro, even though they use mostly the same instruments. If we were making dance music, the tracks on our album would be in about 7 different genres.

Because those labels have no meaning to me. The first track has that absurd vocal sample, it goes on forever without anything happenning and ends up sounding exactly like the start of the next track. All your percussion has a similar feel and nothing ever happens in your tunes. They can't hold my interest for more than about 30 seconds - its just "la-la la-la... can I go home now?" pub-static. No emotion. No feeling. Just a big, fat, boring yawn. Even Suicide Commando has a bigger range than you. [That's an insult BTW.]

ah...getting angry are we BONES?..I do think that you like my stuff and just won't admit it..the more tracks you hear from me, the more agressive you get...classic syndrome of jealousy...Anyways, I have been getting very positive comments from complete strangers about my wide range of sound...I make everything from moviescores to "pop" (only when I have to) and cuttingedge electronica...I don't like your music and that's my opinion...get on with your life and be happy...

Like I said, that's perfectly fine with me. In fact, having listened to your mindless drivel, it pleases me greatly. I just object to your ridiculous accusation as to the narrow range of styles presented.

Just for the record, here's what someone who actually knows about EBM had to say in a review:
"it seems to cover the entire EBM spectrum except the ones that are already done to death making it a good reminder of the glory days of when EBM was still hard and aggresive."

Hey Bones - can you do me a favour and check out ASynth and Augur.

I'm interested in your opinion of the filter used on them and whether they represent a viable alternative to WaspXT at all.

They're obviously different synths, particularly Augur. But I'm just curious because you love the filter in WaspXT so much whether these two have a standing in this area.
