Hi KVR Audio! :)

I just launched a free web app that can pull vocals or instrumentals out of full tracks. Most of the existing options I tried either cut you off after short previews, rely on outdated tech, or throw up paywalls.

This one is built on Demucs (Meta’s AI model), so the results are cleaner and it can handle longer audio.

What it does:
  • Higher quality separation compared to Spleeter and similar free tools
  • Works with WAV, MP3, and FLAC
  • Up to 10 minutes / 100 MB per file
  • No daily usage cap - just one active job per person at a time
I’ve been experimenting with ways to run this affordably, and finally made it sustainable. Hopefully it’s helpful for producers looking to sample, remix, or strip vocals.

This is excellent, huge thanks! It'd be cool if you made it into a plugin at some point.

Thank you for the feedback!

Good idea, I should learn how to code in C++ to create VST/AU plugins at some point :D

Tried it, worked well. If you could add an option to extract keyboard parts that well I would be very grateful.

Thank you! I actually have a free stem splitter in the works. It’s pretty basic for now, but you could give it a try. It doesn’t have separate "keys" track detection, but you might find keyboard parts in the "other.wav".

Ultimate Vocal Remover can do Demucs v4 stem splitting too, but yours is still a good option for people that don't want to install it for some reason.

Thanks, that was the goal – to not install anything.

UVR is based on Demucs, correct! So if you're using Demucs locally you're not losing anything :)

This isn't working for me atm FWIW - it seems to get the file OK, but says "Waiting in queue" and just spins and spins. Have tried several different (and not very big) files

Just fixed it! Seems like it went down for a bit.

Thank you!

I've used this before. It's very good. Thank you.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Might this be able to split a stem of 2+ vocals singing harmony into individual singers? I recognise this is very hard to do. Would love something like that though, could help me figure what they are doing. Polyphonic Melodyne is hit and miss here

Circumcision's just another way of saying 'bye to the 'hood

Another request that might be unrealistic: is it possible to have an option where it only takes out the lead voice but leaves backing vocals?

Post

You could try a mid-side plugin.
