It's not just the fx. The oscillators have their own dac modes! There is even a bitcrushing per-voice filter!
Can't imagine that it's much different.

The classic lofi sounds are old casettes and worn out records over the entire sound.

I'm interested in JUP 8000V but for Black Friday it is actually $50 cheaper to upgrade the whole suite, which I haven't bothered to install for about 3 years, than buy the individual plugin. Airwave has got me interested and I really like the extras Arturia have added, so having both doesn't seem like a stupid idea (and I'm keen for the upgraded SEM as well). I think the JUP's workflow is a bit better, too, thanks too a cleaner/clearer layout as much as anything.

I gotta say I'm surprised the V 11 suite hasn't got more attention here, just 8 pages over 7 or 8 months.

Probably because the last two versions have included more "Augmented" synths and emulations of Arturia's own "Mini" hardware synths than what many (myself included) had hoped for. Some of us prefer to assume the "V" in "V Collection" is for "vintage".

Yeah, Arturia are kind of over. They lost the plot a while ago. I used to get really excited over new Arturia synths and FX. But it's been several years since that happened, and I think not caring about new Arturia plugins is just the new normal. Too bad, really. It didn't have to be this way.

I don't remember the last time I upgraded.

Yeah, I've never been a fan if I'm honest. I tried to love Pigments. I quite like the workflow, but there was something about its sound that just didn't work for me. I only bought the Collection (V8 or V9, I think) because I got an offer at $199, which seemed too good to pass up, but the reality is that we only ever use Analog Lab, which we got when we bought a couple of MiniLab controllers 7 or 8 years ago.

What's pushed me over the edge this time is the upgraded, SEM, the MiniFreak VSTi and the JUV 8000. That seems like pretty good value for $99 and I won't install the rest of the stuff, just the bits I want. As I said, I really like the extras in the JUV and the old SEM was a bit disappointing, the new one seems much improved.

Do Arturia realise that? 🤦‍♂️
Bit of a nonsense comment really.
I upgraded to 11 and must say the extra synths are marvellous. To my ears they sound good and give me extra options
I wonder what happens if I press this button...

The company cannot even fix the bugs in their software. There are trolls working in their support (Abel, for instance. She is pobably a bot). I don't expect much from this company.

I was on V8, but updated to V11.
The last few updates seemed like a disappointment to me, and I skipped them.
Over on GS forum, someone who was also on V8 asked what they would get if they updated to 11, so I took a look and posted it.
I think it would be worth re-posting here, so here's what would be gained:

V11
Jup8000V,
Pure LoFi,
Synthx ,
Minibrute,
Augmented Yangtze,
Augmented Mallets,
SEM V2,
Augmented2

V10
CP-70 V,
MiniFreak V,
Acid V,
Augmented Brass,
Augmented Grand Piano
Augmented Woodwinds),
rebuilds the Mini V4 and Wurli V3,
and includes three new sound expansion packs

V9
Korg MS-20V,
SQ-80V,
Augmented Strings
Aug. Voices
14 Sound Banks
Rebuilt - CS-80 V4,
Prophet-5 V,
Prophet VS-V,
Piano V3,

After considering it for a short while, I decided that it would be worth updating at the current sale price.
I'm glad I did. While there's some stuff I won't use, it's offset by some really good things I'll be using a lot.

Do you remember how much it was to upgrade from 8 to 11 pro?

I'd consider this if the upgrade price plus a cheap 8 collection key was much less than my current offer of €249

Hope it stays the same for V12 next year; this year I'm passing, X and XI don'have that much difference.

We are due for V Collection 12 in late 2026 and if they do the normal upgrade pricing path they have done in the past, next year for BF it will probably be $199 for version 11 owners and $299 for others

They don't drop it to $99 for everyone until it's getting to the end of its product cycle and then they run that mid year and at Black Friday

I don't think you will see $99 for version 12 until BF 2027 two years from now

From my perspective if you are on version 8 or 9 and have any interest at all in version 11 the current $99 upgrade price is a steal, as each new synth is less than $10

Then when fully upgraded you can ride out version 12 or even 13 until it goes on sale for $99 in 2027 or 2029, assuming version 12 doesn't have have something earth shattering you just have to have, but even then upon release and a version 11 owner your upgrade price will be $100 less than if you don't which means buying 11 for $99 was a wash anyway and as a bonus you got a years worth of use out of it

Having said that I expect V collection 12 to be a significant upgrade because I expect most things inside of it, to be upgraded to support MIDI 2.0 and think Arturia will also release new MIDI 2.0 compliant hardware controllers to support this

The big dream is having V12 Linux native + CLAP. One can dream... :)

Thanks, looks like ~€150 total then. Does anyone know when the Arturia BF discount ends? Is that €99 euros a BF special or standard upgrade cost?
