We're super excited to announce the final version of Bassliner! A new plugin designed to help you smash writer's block and spark endless new track ideas fast!

Image

Based on 6 years of melodic perception academic research, Bassliner is a MIDI bassline generator that made waves when its limited Beta version was released in late 2024. It was featured in "Top Free Plugins of 2024" lists such as dB Institute's, and was favoured by Grammy winners, multi-platinum producers and thousands of users who told us that it's the best plugin of its kind at the time.

The final, full version offers:
- New and improved algorithms.
- Guide the generation style with extended controls.
- Receive hit-ready patterns with Feedback Pool.
- Access to "Just For Me" private generation.
- Non-AI algorithms for flag-free distribution.
- Edit basslines in the built-in piano roll.
- Save your favourite basslines in the Bassline Library.
- Sound Preview (two styles: Saw and Sine wave) within the plugin.
- Track past generations with full undo / redo implementation.

Until the end of Cyber Week (6 Dec), you can get Bassliner for just €19 (Reg. €29)!

You can also try the free-forever demo version that includes 111 patterns in 3 scales, and has full piano roll, Bassline Library and MIDI routing functionality:

PS. I'd like to thank Cableguys for their valuable support!

Let me know if you have any questions or ideas. Thanks and have fun!

After watching your video I have to say I like your manner how you represent yourself :tu:
Cableguys are one of my most trusted and respected companies so...
...this was enough for me to pull the trigger especially for that price...
I don´t know if I have use for the plugin but I am alwways open for idea generators, so thank you for your work!

So I tried the demo. Too many of the features are locked/greyed out for me to decide if I want this. Basically the entire right side. Also, I think there needs to be a way to lock individual notes when generating patterns. The demo as it stands is everything I can do with Audiomodern Riffer.

Thank you Trancit, means a lot! :-)

Jiggsaw, the Demo version is limited in that it mainly shows the style and feel of what to expect in terms of generated patterns. However, if you are undecided about the full version after trying the Demo, there is money-back guarantee. This means that you can buy the full plugin, and if you don't like it, you can just ask and get your money back. :tu:
Rhythm can be locked with "Create Similar". Thought to share the manual, just in case you want to find out more details: https://dreeemwave.com/basslinermanual

The plugin requires an Internet connection to generate basslines.

Looks quite interesting.
The price seems to be fair.
Will check it out tomorrow...

...
Just a quick note after trying a bit around:
For my taste the generated bass notes do too often octave jumps into the higher octave when choosing 2 or 4 bars length and if set to minor scale ( I had it set to F minor)...

This happened to me at about 90% of the generated patterns...with phrygian mode it was fine though

I don´t mean just here and there but at least half of the created notes were an octave higher... that´s a bit much for my taste...
Here and then an octave jump, ok... but at least 50% of the notes is too much.
Putting everything an octave lower wasn´t an option either... for that still too many notes were in the lower octave and were too low after transposing down...

Perhaps you could find a way to make a control how much of the notes are allowed to go that high?

Hey Trancit,

I can only think that you were using the "flat" mode when experiencing this. Flat mode in more than 1bar setting will deliberately create jumps, and 4 and 8bar flat patterns will basically create the bassline of an implied chord progression (though precisely octave-long jumps should be rare).

Please do use the Riff mode with Minor scales too and do let me know! :)

Hmm I don´t know...
I tried both modes and i.e. I just had after 3 generations in Riff mode a riff for a 4 bar loop with 13 notes were generated (all counted in semi tones from the aimed root note):
- no aimed root note (Fmin) in the bass octave
- 1 note +3
- 3 notes +8
- 3 notes +12
- 2 notes +14
- 1 note +19
- 3 notes +24

Of course I can now transpose the whole thing 1 octave down but nonetheless we got here a riff with 2 octaves of range...
Riff 1.jpg
.
Next generated riff had a span over 11 semitones ...

Or look at this one...
This time I checked "Lock root note at start"...
So if the first note shall be the root note (for me the aimed note and octave) then there happens the vast majority far above...
1 root note at the wished octave... 4 root notes at 1 octave higher going up to + 15

On top I had today countless (at least every second generation) errors saying that my license would be incorrect and generation in general took long time!

Oh, this is very interesting! Generation should be taking a few seconds at most. Can I send you an email to ask you a few things, so that we can get more information?

Follow up! If any user experienced connection or licensing issues, please find the update that fixes that here! https://dreeemwave.com/basslinerupdates

The licensing system was originally in Cloudflare, but a few users reported temporary issues. The new version uses a different system, and the great part is that generation should now be practically instant for 1, 2 and 4 bar patterns (and almost instant for 8 bars)! :D

I bought it and think it's pretty cool :tu:

*Other developers could take a lesson from the preset handling imo.

Thank you for the kind words! :)
As the support for the plugin has been going really well in terms of purchases and feedback, I've decided to extend the €19 offer until the end of Monday (AOE) to give a little more final time to everyone who is still considering to buy at this price and is running out of time!

PS. Bassliner talk seems a little slow in here compared to other places.. I hope to hear more from the KVR community about the plugin, any feedback or ideas are very encouraged! :tu:

The beta version is telling me "the plugin did not receive the server reply in time".
