While I understand that Absynth can't allow automation of all it's parameters since it's so modular, there are plenty in it's modules that ocul dbe automatable without having to use the macros, so I hope they enable that. The oscillators, filters, envlopes and effects on the main page could easily allow direct automation. I hope they open up parameters to direct automation. They went the wrong direction with Massive X but recent posts by NI have stated they are enabling direct parameter automation for Massive X so maybe a chance that Absynth will have more than just the macros?

By the Absynth has the coolest mutation feature before Omnisphere 3 made it cool.

Green Friday?

Oh well... Hopefully Komplete Kontrol 3 will get some love in 2026

I doubt they would ever go back to the 8 knobs + 8 buttons per page setup like Kore. They would have to redo all their NKS patches and would break compatibility with existing controllers.

It was an absolutely stupid design idea to have only the knobs be mapped and therefor to be forced to control buttons with knobs in NKS. But they did it, and too late to change now. It was perfect with the kore layout, and the silly thing is that even have the physical buttons on KK controllers, they could have just used a simple toggle button to go from functional controls to patch controls for the buttons.

Speaking of .... have you seen the not so subtle colour hint on the NI BF main page?

I am hoping for the old synth engine... And for good discounts 8 months after the release.

The preset browser should not be as hostile as Massive X's to the user's own and third party patches. I understand there's priority on NKS compatible patches but at least let the non-NKS patches be organized instead of alphabetically jumbled together in a long list.

This and the news that Access is being worked on, along with the current "loyalty" BF sale are tempting me. It still feels a little like Lucy VP. holding her football for Charlie B. to kick though...

They could add buttons and nothing would break, it would just be a new option for people to use, older mappings wouldn't have them, but shouldn't break.

Seems a good time to put it out there as this thread seems quite positive, and that NI are trying to listen to feedback.

They also probably need new versions, more plug ins, and things like good Maschine updates to keep things ticking over.

There's a thread in the reaktor forum discussion called "Have you really given up on reaktor, NI"

One quote from Tim at NI on may 16,2025: "Reaktor remains a supported product and we continue to maintain it as a baseline.

Beyond this, we are in a research phase where we are exploring a number of possible futures for the NI synths portfolio (which includes Reaktor). We don't have anything concrete to share right now, but we are looking forward to sharing more as and when the time is right."
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

Yeah they could have added this at any time, this has been a long standing request going back to before it even was released. I don’t understand why they added the buttons then didn’t use them for actual control, just secondary functions originally, although ironically on the MkIII keyboards you can now assign them to params in MIDI templates but not NKS which has really been neglected.

Since we're talking about NI getting with the program again (hopefully), has there been any word on finally updating the Kontakt Editor UI to bring into the 2010's? High DPI, resizing etc. Maybe even MPE?

Would be nice to have the power of Kontakt in a modern interface for actually building sampled instruments. It has great sample stretch algorithms and general sound design capabilities.

Imagine Absynth, Reaktor and Kontakt all brought into the modern age. The Original Power Trio.

Would be cool - i just recently made a challenge to myself: A track based on Absynth 5 ONLY - effects included :D

I built a Looper for Bitwig! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z5ywDo2bU0
