Cool what do you like best about the psychoacoustic effects?

Post

both from plugin alliance, yet i´d prefer to stay clear vs. NI:

the Vertigo VSS-2 is good /especially the last stage: tube saturator // on sale: $19 or so ( i payed $10)
SPL Vitalizer mk-III / the bass section alone is very useful and imho unique. $79 right now, worth it if you use it. below 50 would fit better for those unsure. Once below $30 a nobrainer imho

vs. creative FX: GRM Atelier / but the original price is imho too steep vs. what it is right now.
What´s there is great. But it lacks some things. ( i payed €139, that´s ok, even good. The original asking price is imho for the specialists who depend on such tools)

otherwise: my old ones are my real Favs
"Plugin has turned Drug now"....and the business knows it.

I also got the Vertigo channel strip recently and really like it. In fact, it's the first channel strip I've ever felt the need to buy. In the past, I never really had much need for channel strips; I have EQs, I have saturators, I have compressors, I have preamps, and if I need one I use it. But this was the first I've used where it felt like every section really complimented each other and everything worked together to shape the sound. The tube saturation is the highlight, but it's made so much better and more versatile by the other sections.

Finally got U-he Satin, got nice delays! Haven’t tried the saturation yet but feel like it will get used.

UAD Paradise Guitar Studio - easy to get great tones and a great way to get native versions of FX that haven't been ported yet. The updated EP-3 is super vibey.
Pulsar Modular P42, P19, P821, P455 - used all over. So much tone shaping and they just make great sounding tools. Pricey? Yup. Worth it to me? Double yup.
Purafied Audio (all of it) - Sam is kind of amazing. He lets this stuff go for coffee money, but they all sound great. The new 5420 is surprisingly deep when you wrap your head around it.

Big Swarma was the runner-up.
I have to add ADPTR Utopia to this. In fact I think I like it a bit more than FutureVerb, just for being so completely different from any other reverb I've tried. It's absolutely gorgeous on some material, and it thickens up other stuff, and it's just plain weird sometimes. It remains to be seen how well it will fit into a mix, but I think there's enough customization available that it shouldn't be a problem.

I've also found it's kind of fun to have its Decay EQ fighting in the midrange with TB Equalizer Pro's Ambience setting -- it takes it from smooth to choppy in unexpected ways. :D

recently acquired the uad 176 compressor, it sounds pretty goddamn incredible. stays smooth and sweet regardless of how punishingly you push it. i caved and went it on the whole uad world because of the la 2a but the 176 has been the real revelation discovery (for me), the colors it produces, tackles anything and sounds brilliant
